**Craig Carton** (0:01)
318, Carton Show with Big Mac. Big Mac's on that Disney Cruise still.
Emmanuel Barbarino is here, one of the voices of the New York Yankees, and a rising star in the broadcasting world. Gallo, obviously Connor here as well. All right, so you want the Boone story first, or you want to get into the Alonzo hit-down-the-left-field line first? Your call.
**Chris McMonigle** (0:25)
Ooh, Boone.
**Craig Carton** (0:26)
Boone, all right. So for those of you, especially the guys at Jumbo, they do a great job talking yanks with Aaron Boone. He will not reveal to them exactly what he's doing, but we've all seen it. After a game, he kind of turns into the dugout. Some people think he might be the stands, and he does the point, and does a weird thing with his fist, right?
And I'm just going to show you, there's a private text I'm going to show you.
**Connor** (0:50)
Okay.
**Craig Carton** (0:51)
So you know I'm not BSing you, okay?
All right. So you see the first blue thing there? Don't say it out loud.
**Connor** (0:58)
Oh yeah.
**Craig Carton** (0:58)
And he says, he's basically gives me permission to share, correct?
**Chris McMonigle** (1:01)
Complete validation there.
**Craig Carton** (1:02)
Okay, there you go. Aaron Boone and I before the season began, decided to do that to see how long it would take people to ask him to do it.
**Connor** (1:12)
Wow.
**Craig Carton** (1:13)
So what Aaron Boone is doing when he turns to the dugout and points is what he's saying is, that's another one, Craig.
**Connor** (1:21)
Wow.
**Craig Carton** (1:22)
It's a private little message to me that, see, I want another game, Craig.
**Chris McMonigle** (1:28)
That's remarkable.
**Craig Carton** (1:29)
Okay, and if anybody wants to ask him that before the Oriole game tonight, or at any point the rest of this season, you have my permission, not that you need it, to ask him and he will confirm that's what he is doing.
It's a little private joke between me and him. It's him saying, because they always talk about, Boone should get fired, Boone's not a good manager, and he and I have discussed that a lot offline, because I think he's a terrific manager.
**Connor** (1:55)
Very underrated.
**Craig Carton** (1:55)
I think this year actually belies the fact that Aaron Boone gets more out of less than most managers in baseball. I think the stats we talked about yesterday, where when the Yankees have six hits or less, or no, six hits or more. Six hits or more.
**Connor** (2:11)
They're like 40 games over 500
**Chris McMonigle** (2:13)
It's unbelievable.
**Connor** (2:14)
Right.
**Chris McMonigle** (2:14)
And five hits or fewer, they've won 12 out of 34, which is hard to do. Yeah.
**Craig Carton** (2:18)
Right. So it's a little joke between he and I that, hey Craig, for all the people that say I can't manage, there's another one, Craig.
**Chris McMonigle** (2:26)
So you have 71 of those this year.
**Craig Carton** (2:28)
So is that how many it is now?
**Chris McMonigle** (2:29)
71 and 55
**Craig Carton** (2:30)
So you like that, Gallo? I got 71 of those little private messages from my guy, Aaron Boone.
**Connor** (2:36)
You think Big Mac's punching the air right now at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique hearing that?
**Craig Carton** (2:41)
Hopefully he's not listening right now because he's on vacation. He should enjoy vacation because there's a lot of people that want me to replace him with Bart Scott right now, and he should enjoy what might be his last vacation before he goes back to overnights. But outside of that, yes, I think he's like, son of a gun, I thought I had a relationship with Aaron Boone, but now you know.
**Chris McMonigle** (3:01)
Go get him.
**Craig Carton** (3:02)
Well, that's his podcast.
**Chris McMonigle** (3:03)
That's his podcast.
**Craig Carton** (3:04)
That's not my podcast.
**Chris McMonigle** (3:05)
Yeah.
**Craig Carton** (3:05)
My podcast is called The Joint Venture, Little Wayne. We smoke weed. Yeah. Wow.
**Chris McMonigle** (3:10)
I like that name.
**Craig Carton** (3:11)
There you go. All right.
Blind eye yesterday, naked eye yesterday. Home run, not a home run.
**Chris McMonigle** (3:17)
Home run.
**Craig Carton** (3:18)
Really?
**Chris McMonigle** (3:19)
I thought in the moment the Yankees caught a massive break.
**Craig Carton** (3:21)
You thought it was a home run?
**Chris McMonigle** (3:22)
Home run.
**Craig Carton** (3:23)
Okay. Today, what do you think?
**Chris McMonigle** (3:24)
Today, I saw another angle that was circulating social media. I'm like, oh, maybe it's not as conclusive, and you need conclusive evidence to overturn.
