Yeah, yeah, white ad on Sunday. Stolen right from Happy Valley, but who cares? The New York Jets have something to celebrate, a chance to go 2-0. By the way, my buddy Chris Belldani texted and said, did Big Mac just call my Christmas cookies crap?
How should I respond to that?
Chris McMonigle (0:19)
By saying the answer, which is no.
Craig Carton (0:22)
Okay, well, you'll deal with that on your own.
Chris McMonigle (0:24)
When did I say that?
Craig Carton (0:25)
I know you referred to the cookie with the jelly in it, the two dry cookies and the jelly in the middle.
Chris McMonigle (0:30)
Yeah, and then you dip one end in chocolate sprinkles. Yeah, they're okay. They're dry.
SPEAKER_3 (0:33)
They're just okay and dry, you're saying?
Chris McMonigle (0:34)
They are dry.
Craig Carton (0:35)
He said, he said, he said, he said dry.
Chris McMonigle (0:38)
Maybe he makes them better than any other one I've ever had, but they're dry. They're dry.
Craig Carton (0:44)
Yeah, no joke.
Chris McMonigle (0:45)
It's part of its charm.
Craig Carton (0:47)
There you go. Did you call my Christmas cookies crap?
SPEAKER_4 (0:49)
No.
Craig Carton (0:50)
Okay, meanwhile, let's focus on the Jets playing the Packers.
Because it's gonna be like 19 inches of rain, it's gonna be nasty outside. There's gonna be a lot of heavy set guys wearing white t-shirts so I can get turned on by their hairy areoles. And the New York Jets, I think it all favors the Jets.
I think the Jets come into this game with more confidence than they've had for any week two game in the last decade. 1-0, a wounded Packer team without their running back, obviously, in Jacobs, reeling off an embarrassingly bad loss, albeit in Minnesota, but still to a backup quarterback, Carson Wentz. And I think there's blood in the water. As the New York Jets can do, what we think they were built to do, and that's badass offensive line, run the ball 45, 50 times with Braylon Allen, of course, Breeze Hall, then play action pass if the weather allows it. I see no reason why the New York Jets are not 2-0 out of the gate.
Chris McMonigle (1:54)
Yeah, I'm with you. I think the worry is that love and the Packers coming off, like you said, an embarrassing loss, get it together. They're able to run the football as well because running backs aren't the only thing. The offensive line obviously plays a role in that. The coach is an offensive coach. They have been a playoff team a bunch. They had that game in control until the second half when it fell apart on them. If they don't turn the ball over, they make the Jets throw the football.
Again, it's going to be a tough game.
SPEAKER_3 (2:23)
I don't mind the Jets throwing the football either.
Chris McMonigle (2:25)
I don't want to make it seem.
My only reason why I'm not even pushing back is because I like the Jets in this game. I truly do. What's the spread? Three and a half.
Craig Carton (2:32)
Jets are getting.
Chris McMonigle (2:33)
Jets are getting three and a half at home.
Let's also just make it clear. I think the Tennessee Titans are a terrible football team.
Craig Carton (2:40)
I don't disagree.
Chris McMonigle (2:41)
The Green Bay Packers are not. I agree you're getting them at the right time. I agree the defense looks lost without their defensive captain and best player.
SPEAKER_3 (2:49)
Well, stop there for one second.
Craig Carton (2:50)
So Michael Parsons is not playing again, obviously, still recuperating. Do you know how many games they've won since Michael Parsons got injured last year?
Chris McMonigle (3:00)
One, two.
Craig Carton (3:01)
Okay, so I think five games last year plus the opener this year. So I'm going to carry it over, okay? The Green Bay Packers, since Michael Parsons got hurt, have won a grand total of, what's your final answer? One or two?
Chris McMonigle (3:15)
Two.
Craig Carton (3:15)
Two? The Green Bay Packers without Michael Parsons are winless.
Chris McMonigle (3:21)
They've lost every game down the stretch of the line?
Craig Carton (3:22)
They have not won a single game since Michael Parsons got hurt. Now, I'm not saying it's definitely cause and effect.
Chris McMonigle (3:29)
No, but it's something.
Craig Carton (3:31)
They have not won a game without him.
Chris McMonigle (3:33)
He's lost without him.
Craig Carton (3:34)
And he's not playing Sunday on it.
Chris McMonigle (3:35)
No, it's a huge, huge factor in this game. What they are defensively without Michael Parsons. There's no doubt about it. But still, good football team, there's a reason they're favorite by three and a half on the road.
