All right, let's get some calls here. As the Yankee State came on, quick football note if I can, before I get all the Yankee calls.
Interesting note, just keep on the back burner, because I now are focused on Yankee baseball. Andrew Thomas did not practice today for the New York Giants, neither did Tyrone Tracy. Looks like he fell to favor anyway. Najee Harris got more carries last week. But just keep an eye on your left tackle. Did not practice today.
No word yet if it's gonna be available for Sunday against the Cardinals.
Chris McMonigle (0:29)
That's a bad spot.
SPEAKER_3 (0:30)
It's just gonna be all year long. When you tell me that, I'm not overly concerned that he won't play this Sunday. I mean, I suppose I am, but that's not what I think. I think this is going to be every week, all season long.
Chris McMonigle (0:42)
County, county, county, county.
SPEAKER_3 (0:43)
He missed this practice. Oh, he's back for that practice. I think he's a go, but he's questionable coming into Sunday. Like the dude has not been able to just stay healthy. Right. No matter what he does.
Well, I think you'll... I'm not going to say, oh, he's back.
Chris McMonigle (0:57)
And he was a groin injury, I think, right? A groin injury now.
SPEAKER_3 (0:59)
Yeah. So I'm not... He played last week. He played a little bit better than he did the week before against the Rams, where he really had a rough day.
I'm not... I think he's still going to play. If he misses tomorrow, maybe I'll get more concerned. But I'm just concerned at the overall health, and it's going to be... He's going to be hampered by this injury all year long.
Craig Carton (1:16)
Now, are you bothered by the Yankees' tweet of 41 minutes ago?
SPEAKER_3 (1:22)
I don't think I'm bothered by anything the Yankees did today, but I haven't seen it.
Craig Carton (1:26)
41 minutes ago, the New York Yankees put out a tweet that said, all gas, no brakes.
SPEAKER_3 (1:33)
No, they did not.
Craig Carton (1:34)
Yes, they did. That is a phrase that was coined by Robert Sala.
He owns it, by the way. He has a trademark on it. At the New York Yankees, 41 minutes ago, put out a tweet that says, all gas, no brakes. It shows you that we are not paying attention about 5 years ago, when Robert Sala became the head coach of the New York Jets. He said, all gas, no brakes.
SPEAKER_3 (1:59)
He didn't just say it. He practically tattooed it on the forehead of every player on the team.
Craig Carton (2:04)
Then Matt LaFleur stole it from him and did it in Green Bay with the Packers.
SPEAKER_3 (2:06)
Is that a fact?
Craig Carton (2:07)
That is a fact, all gas, no brakes. Guess what? That didn't work out for them either. So I would say memo to the Yankees social media team, because I appreciate you feeling pretty good about yourself right now. You should probably double check sayings from failed New York sports franchises.
All gas, no brakes.
SPEAKER_3 (2:28)
I get the message, don't take your foot off the pedal.
Craig Carton (2:31)
We all understand the message.
SPEAKER_3 (2:32)
I get it, but specifically for game two after a big win. Do you?
Because I understand it.
Craig Carton (2:37)
All gas, no brakes, like put them out of the misery early tonight.
SPEAKER_3 (2:41)
Yeah, exactly right.
Craig Carton (2:41)
Jump on, Sonny Craig.
SPEAKER_3 (2:42)
Let's go. I think that's a key figure to this game tonight. I think you want to get out early and put the Red Sox in that same frame of mind. You want to knock Sonny Craig out of the game early.
They were in last night. Yeah, so it's obvious. I mean, look, any game you want to jump out to early, but specifically while you have a team beaten like you did last night, you got to try and get right back into that mode. Same, have that same feeling. We're us and you're you.
Craig Carton (3:05)
The only thing worse than that was your boy, Sean Morash.
SPEAKER_3 (3:08)
What Sean Morash do?
Chris McMonigle (3:09)
He joined me for the Go Get'em Podcast.
Craig Carton (3:11)
It must have taken him an hour and a half to come up with this. There's a hot new country star, I've told you about her, Stella Lefty. And she sings the song, On a train down to Boston, bada bada bada, that whole thing. So he goes, Max Fried should be a Stella Lefty tonight and send the Red Sox back on a train to Boston. Convoluted.
