We have an awful, awful lot to talk about today. A lot of things to break down. So in football, only one of the New York teams played yesterday, one will play today. The Jets look like they had a win and then they lost the win, and then they ended up losing in overtime by a 20 to 17 score. Showed that they could play with a pretty good Packers team. They slowed the Packers down, but some questionable time decisions by Aaron Glenn, some questionable play calling by Glenn and Frank Wright, and they ended up blowing the lead, and they lose in overtime by a 20 to 17 score. And it's funny, I have a very good friend who's a very big Jet fan, and when the Jets lost yesterday, he seemed somewhat happy. And I said, well, why are you happy? I don't understand, why are you happy? He said, because this is the perfect thing that you want to see all year. I said, what's that? He goes, you don't want to stack wins, you want to be competitive in every single game. He said, but we need a quarterback for the future, it's not gonna be Geno Smith, and the only way we get that quarterback of the future is gonna be if we lose a lot of games. And I guess I understand it to an extent, but if you lose a lot of games, and you lose games the way you lost them yesterday, then Aaron Glenn is not gonna be the coach. But then you're gonna have a whole coaching turnover. And then you're gonna bring in a quarterback with a new coach, a new offensive coordinator, and I don't know if that furthers your cause. And when you lose games on purpose, just so you could get a quarterback, you don't know if that quarterback is gonna be good. How's Cam Ward looking? That was the first pick in the draft. So just because a quarterback might be good in college doesn't mean he's gonna be great in the NFL. And you don't know. You might have Arch Manning in your sights, and you get the number one pick, and Arch Manning all of a sudden says, you know what? I don't want to play for the Jets. Just like his uncle didn't want to play for the Jets. He can stay in school again if he so chooses. So I'd much rather stack wins. And you do have three first round draft picks in the upcoming draft, and maybe you package them together and you move up to get the quarterback that you want. I'd much rather win games like yesterday rather than lose games. The thing that I didn't like about the game yesterday is they continued to run the ball. And when asked about it, you know, Aaron Glenn said, well, I mean, look how we ran the ball last week. Yeah, you ran it against an awful Titans defense. It's different than the Packers defense. Now, the Titans played better this past weekend, but the week before, they didn't look good. So you can't rest on it and keep running the ball on third and two and fourth and one. And I mean, if you look at the numbers, Breece Hall, 16 carries, 29 yards. I mean, I can almost do that running forward. And Braylon Adams, five carries and seven yards. That's just dreadful. So it wasn't there. Just wasn't there for them. The Jet defense, I thought, played well. They had too many penalties. I don't understand. And he doubled down on it today when he had a Zoom meeting with the media, not calling a timeout in the end of the game. You know, he could have gotten the Green Bay Packers to punt and then you take your chance getting a field goal to end the game without going into overtime. I also don't understand in overtime how you decide to take the ball first. Now, if you look at these statistics, it doesn't skew one way or the other. But I want the ball, I want the ball second. I want to see what they do so I know what I have to do. Because if they score a touchdown, then I'm playing a four down game.
