It's The Carton Show with Big Mac on a gorgeous Monday afternoon in New York City. Phone number to join as always, 888-808-1019.

Got a great show for you today.

Right into Giants Monday Night Football against the LA. Rams, but of course, the focus of the majority of today is gonna be on the embarrassment that was the New York Jets in the 4th quarter in overtime and how our head coach cost us a W. And I don't want to hear the crap today from Aaron Glenn about how statistically the New York Jets are the number one ranked defense in the NFL and 2nd against the run and 2nd against the pass. And we showed we can hang with that. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. Yeah, you showed that you can screw up a wet dream is what you showed yesterday. And then double downing on it today doesn't make things any better. We'll get into all of it with you. That's what we're gonna do. We're gonna be calm about it. We're gonna be collected about it. But we're gonna be honest about it. Aaron Glenn owes us a win. Aaron Glenn cost us a W yesterday afternoon. And I'll tell you something else.

That's as loud as I've heard in MetLife Stadium for a jet game since the pregame introductions of Aaron Rodgers for his first game that lasted four plays. The crowd did a great job yesterday. The head coach cost us a W. Good afternoon, Big Mac. How are you today?

Chris McMonigle (1:39)

I'm doing all right. How are you?

Craig Carton (1:41)

I'm doing all right.

Chris McMonigle (1:42)

I'm doing all right. I'm doing all right. I'm doing all right.

Craig Carton (1:46)

Yeah, how about that? Oh. How about that?

Chris McMonigle (1:48)

You were just laughing. And look at you, and you said, I'm the one turning this into a competition. Shame on you. Shame on you. I'm with you. I was rooting for the Jets this year. I am rooting for the season's not over. I'm rooting for the Jets. I had hopes for Aaron Glenn. Sure. We sat there and spoke to him, and I was uber critical of him last year. I was really concerned about him heading into the season, but I thought, you know what? He sounded like he knew what he was doing. He sounded like he learned from his mistakes and that we were gonna get a different head coach. And you saw exactly the same issues. End of the first half, end of the game, clock management situations, being aggressive in certain situations, being non-aggressive in others, like everything about this game. And that's where, before we get into all of it, we will, right?

The thing that bothers me the most, and I'm a fan who feels this way, what the win could have been.

Like you just said, two and oh, big deal. Defense, and you have to give Glenn credit, he's done a great job calling plays, the defense has been good. You come out of that game, beating a Green Bay Packer team, finishing off a way to finish that team. You go up two oh, your defense looks legit, even in a game where you couldn't run the football, you find a way to beat love in the Packers. And we're talking about a team right now that's a legitimate team in the NFL.

Craig Carton (3:00)

All of a sudden, the Lions aren't a problem for me.

Chris McMonigle (3:04)

The Bears without Caden Williams. The Tennessee Titans gave the Philadelphia Eagles everything they could want and more. So the week one win looks better than it did coming off of it.

Craig Carton (3:12)

For sure.

Chris McMonigle (3:12)

A team that dominated one week found a way to beat a good team the next year, 2-0. And you're feeling like something is beginning. And instead, it doesn't feel new. It doesn't feel like something's beginning. We're going to sit here and debate all day about how it looks exactly the same with a coach who's in over his head, who's better suited to be a defensive coordinator, who doesn't know how to handle end of game situations.

SPEAKER_1 (3:34)

We had that with Salah.

Chris McMonigle (3:35)

Now we just have it as an extension of it. I get it, but I mean-

Craig Carton (3:39)

It's frustrating. Here's the other thing. I will go over all the aspects of this, specifically when you want to talk about, by all means give us a shout at 888-808-109.

Chris McMonigle (3:45)

I have more problems with some and less problems with others. Yeah.
