And good afternoon, everybody. This is indeed The Michael Kay Show. We thank you for joining us on this Friday, October 16, 2026 Me and you for two. Those are the rules of engagement for the fastest moving two hours in sports talk radio history. And it's so fast moving because I have you, my co-host, and you know the admission number is 1-800-919-3776.

Now, I know that every day you tune in to The Michael Kay Show on Espn New York and you watch us on the Espn New York YouTube channel which is presented by the Parisman firm. But right now we are having some difficulties with the transmission of the picture. So, hopefully you are hearing me if you are consuming us via YouTube, but you are not seeing me. And I apologize for that, but the content will still remain the same, sharp, witty, incisive, everything that you come to expect from 1-3 Eastern Time, Monday through Friday, right here on Espn New York. So, the Dodgers get swept out of the NLCS by the Brewers. A year after, sweeping the Brewers out of the NLCS. And, you know, just, I watched a lot of the four games. And the Brewers were really impressive. Every time the Dodgers took a lead, the Brewers came back and battled back and won. And yesterday, Ohtani finally hits a home run, first one since August 16th, a monster blast to right center field.

And it gave the Dodgers a 4-0 lead. And you just figured with Glasnow on the mound pitching pretty well, they're not going to be able to come back from 4-0. There is going to be a game five. But they did come back. And in the dugout afterwards, they revealed that they said, this is going to be the greatest story now that we could tell that we came back from 4-0. And they did. They won 6-4, and they swept the LA. Dodgers. And there's many aspects of this story that we should explore.

Number one, they are the very definition, the Brewers are, of a team. All the pieces seem to fit. The Eagles are checked at the door. The captain, Christian Yelich, who's been there nine years, did not even start two of the four games. No complaints, nothing like that. And Pat Murphy pushed all the right buttons. Now, you know that everybody that listens to this show, I love you. Even if I don't love you, I love you. Because you're taking two hours out of your day. Now, yesterday, I said that Pat Murphy now is the flavor of the month when it comes to people, you know, wanting their manager to be like that. And many people that listen took that as an insult to Pat Murphy. I guess those people, I hate to say it might not be that bright. What I mean by flavor of the month is right now, he's considered what people would want in a manager. And that's going to change. It'll change a year from now when another manager steps forward that doesn't manage like Pat Murphy. This is not a knock on Pat Murphy. And if you think it is, please get yourself a cognitive test, because that was not meant whatsoever as a diss on Pat Murphy. Pat Murphy is a special manager who's climbed the ladder, he's coached in college, he managed in the minor leagues, and he has ascended to winning the manager of the year two years in a row in the National League. And now he has the Brewers in the World Series for the first time in 44 years. Pretty amazing, pretty amazing. And most casual baseball fans would not be able to tell you with any certitude who the big stars on the Brewers are. If there are big stars, it's almost like a team of workers. They're, it's not glitzy, it's not famous names. I mean, they're really good players, but these are, you know, what we'd say are grunts. They work hard, they grind, they do what they have to do, they'll lay down a bunt, they run the bases, and for a team that doesn't have a lot of home runs, they out-homer the Dodgers, I'll tell you that. They out-homer them by a lot in this four game set.
