It is time, I think, officially, for Yankee fans to panic. That's right, tied in the lost column with the Boston Red Sox, a team that just won't lose. They come back from every deficit. They get clutch hitting. They get great bullpen action. And the Boston Red Sox now have the same amount of losses as the New York Yankees. I will say this, it's one thing to have a June Swoon. It's one thing to have a couple of weeks of bad baseball. It is a completely another thing to go from first place best team in the American League to allowing yourselves to get caught not just by the Tampa Bay Rays, but if you have to suffer the indignity of the Boston Red Sox also catching you and surpassing you and you become the second wild card team, heads must roll.

Yeah, because I was in a rambunctious mood this morning when I woke up. What do you got? Are you leaving? Where are you going? Are you trying to see me? I don't blame you. You're looking pretty good today.

I didn't realize how strong I was.

**Pete** (1:32)
So good.

**Craig Carton** (1:33)
I decided to do something special to you today.
I invited some guests here today. Okay. Now, they're not going to be on air guests necessarily.

They got excited.

**Craig Carton** (1:42)

I invited him and his partner, Jimmy Oysters, here today, because I want him to stare you.
All right? And he's sitting here right now. He's about eight feet away from Big Mac. And I invited them to come in, A, because I love them, and B, I'm a big fan of their company and everyone should go check them out. More on that later. But I wanted you to look up every time and see, may I say this respectfully, the beady eyes of a diehard Red Sox fan staring at you. Never blinking, never wavering, just reminding you that every time you look up or take a breath, the Red Sox are on your ass. Your thoughts on that?

Look to your right, look to your right, bang, he's right there.

**Craig Carton** (3:01)
That's right, bang, he's still there.

**Chris McMonigle** (3:03)
You should get into oysters. Look, I'm used to this. Yeah, I was there, I told you, I was in Fenway, I had seven year olds in my face screaming Yankees.

**Pete** (3:12)
That's right.

**Chris McMonigle** (3:13)
And at that moment, I thought they were being idiots. I thought those children and everybody in that stadium were kidding themselves.

**Pete** (3:20)
Well, I think you had a 15 game lead over them.

**Chris McMonigle** (3:22)
And enjoying the idea that for a day, they were beaten up on the New York Yankees. Little did I know that that would start a beginning of a run, the likes of which have been seen a handful of times in the history of baseball. Yes. Like this isn't just, and listen, I think the Yankees deserve to get pounded. They've played 500 now for the last month and a half. It's not like they've completely just given everything back. You have to give credit to the Red Sox. They went in 35 out of 40
They went on this incredible, incredible run.

Starting with the sweep of you guys.

**Chris McMonigle** (3:55)
Starting with the four-game sweep of the New York Yankees. So yeah, look, they've fully caught up. They're a half game back. The Yankees have one more victory than they do. And while you and maybe the rest of the country, whoever else was watching and trying to convince themselves that Carson Beck is a legitimate quarterback in the NFL, I was watching the Red Sox and the White Sox. And I was watching that team come back from every single deficit. I was also watching the White Sox throw the ball around like imbeciles. But the Red Sox, down big early, come back. Down a run, come back. Down two runs in extra innings, come back. Every single time, they could have folded. They not only didn't fold, they got stronger. And you have to admit it. You have to recognize what's going on in front of your face. Yes, you do. There's no denying what the Boston Red Sox have become. They look like a team on a mission.
