It's The Carton Show with Big Mac on a gorgeous Tuesday afternoon in New York City. Phone number to join is always 888-808-1019.

I got a great show for you today. As, take a look here, my handy dandy little notebook, and it says right here, not interesting, the LA Rams are two and three. Okay, that's interesting. It says here the Philadelphia Eagles are two and three. Oh, that's interesting. It says right here, the Dallas Cowboys are two and three. Oh, that's interesting. You know what else is two and three? Another Super Bowl hopeful, the New York Jetropolitans.

That's right, because I thought as I was driving home yesterday, and let me first say good afternoon, Big Mac, how are you today? I'm doing well. Great. Good to see that you raided the entire closet of my friends at Fish.

SPEAKER_4 (0:54)

Every day, another hoodie, every day, another hoodie.

Chris McMonigle (0:56)

Two weeks to roll out all three.

Craig Carton (0:58)

Every day, it's like, did you not? Did you buy everything in the store?

Chris McMonigle (1:01)

I bought three, and this is a lovely color.

SPEAKER_4 (1:02)

It's a lovely color on you, yes.

Chris McMonigle (1:04)

I think I look great in this.

SPEAKER_4 (1:05)

Yes, what's your journey is the question.

Chris McMonigle (1:07)

Yes, where my journey?

Craig Carton (1:08)

So yesterday, we did a four-hour radio program. You did five. And it dawned on me that I would say about 85 to 90% of the content yesterday was on the New York Giants, and I get it. First place in the NFC East. You get to tie against Washington, 3-1 and 1

Chris McMonigle (1:23)

And to the game.

Craig Carton (1:24)

Third best record in the sport right now, et cetera, et cetera. And I went home upset with myself, because this is not just a New York Giant town. It's a giant town slash New York Jet town.

Chris McMonigle (1:36)

Sure.

Craig Carton (1:37)

So today, my friend, a bit of a reversal. We open with the New York Jets, because I heard a lot of smack that the Eagles were the team to beat. They're two and three. Heard a lot of smack. I was one of the guys shoveling that smack that the Dallas Cowboys were a Super Bowl on team this year. They're two and three. Heard a lot of smack from the National media that the Rams were a lock to make it to the NFC Championship game or the Super Bowl after that. And they're two and three after last night's loss when the Thicker Kicker got a kick blocked there and has effectively ended the game for the Rams there against the Bills that made a kick to win it. And I'm saying to myself, Rams check, Cowboys check, Eagles check.

What about my beloved New York Jets?

Is anybody willing to check the box that the New York Jets might actually be a competent, good football team?

Allow me to be the first. My hand is raised. The New York Jets are a competent, good, not great, good football team. And it's about time we got some damn respect in this town. And it starts with you people on the phones, 888-808-1019.

Thank you, sir.

Chris McMonigle (2:54)

So you look at the landscape of football, and you see that the Rams last night, who got beat by a team in your division, who just got embarrassed and beat by a team you're going to play next week.

SPEAKER_4 (3:06)

Transit of property doesn't work, you know that.

Chris McMonigle (3:07)

Who was in the Super Bowl last year. I know you love that one.

And so because the failings of the NFC teams, and those are who you mentioned.

Craig Carton (3:16)

Eagles, Cowboys, right?

SPEAKER_4 (3:17)

Eagles, Cowboys, Rams.

SPEAKER_3 (3:19)

And the fact that you've won 3 games on the final play of the game against bad teams. That's right.

Chris McMonigle (3:24)

There's no doubt Seattle only being 3 and 2 There's a lot of disappointing teams.

SPEAKER_3 (3:28)

That's right.

Chris McMonigle (3:29)

The Denver Broncos 3 and 2

SPEAKER_3 (3:31)

That's right.

Chris McMonigle (3:31)

The Houston Texans, who everybody thought would be the Super Bowl contender. 1 and 4

SPEAKER_3 (3:36)

That's right.

Chris McMonigle (3:37)

1 and 4

Craig Carton (3:37)

That's right. How come the Jets ain't getting no love?

Chris McMonigle (3:40)

How come the Jets are not getting any love?

SPEAKER_4 (3:42)

That's right. That's your question today.

Craig Carton (3:43)

I'm hugging them, I'm kissing them, I'm giving them all the love they need today. And Jets fans are going to do the same exact thing because you guys have won three straight games, essentially, on the final play of the game. Well, two wins and a tie, pardon me, right?
