Hey babes, it's Paris Hilton. So I was checking my points balance in the Hilton Honors app the other day. And yeah, I've got about a billion, which feels excessive, even for me. Just kidding, you can never have too many Hilton Honors points. And I want to do something iconic this summer, so I'm giving away all my Paris points. Just find somewhere you've always wanted to stay, then go to my socials or Hilton's and tell me about it. Just make sure you're a Hilton Honors member, and I might be sending you Paris points, because when you want points that make your summer even hotter, it matters where you stay.

You're listening on the Espn New York app and on 880 Espn. Hope you all had a wonderful weekend. The Mets lose two out of three to the Dodgers, and the Yankees win two out of three to the Phillies. Now, they lost yesterday by a score of 11 to 4 That was last night in Philly. And today they start a seven-day stretch in the city of Chicago. Four days against the White Sox, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday. And then three games against the Cubs at Wrigley Field. So the Yankees will be in one place for seven days, and they'll face two teams that are in pennant races as well. So, the biggest thing that happened for the Yankees during this weekend was on Saturday. And some people are underplaying it, and I don't understand why they are, because to me, it's a massive loss. On a late double in the game that the Yankees won on Saturday, Cody Bellinger pulled up, and he had a hamstring issue, and he was quickly put on the IL before Sunday's game.
The Yankees right now are in a precarious situation. So they lost yesterday, the Rays won. So they're three games back, the Rays in the loss column. Then the Red Sox also won. So the Red Sox are closing in on the Yankees for that second wild card, or the first wild card.
The way the Yankees are presently constituted, they have to pitch great in order to win. That's all there is to it. Yesterday, Will Warren did not pitch great. And the Yankees lost. And Will Warren has not pitched great for a while now. He started off the season very, very well. But since then, in his last eight starts, he has a 6.57 ERA with 27 earned runs, 57 innings pitched. And he just has not done the job that he had done previously. Now, in the first 12 starts of the season for Will, he had a 3.22 ERA. Now, I mention this because unless the Yankees make a deal, and there are a lot of deals with the trade deadline coming up on August 3rd, 6 p.m., that they have to make. There's a lot of deals that they have to make, but they can't make all of those deals. And that's the key here.
Right now, they're in the precarious situation. They can't score runs. There's no judge, there's no Stanton, and now there's no Bellinger. There's one dependable hitter in the lineup, and that is Ben Rice. That's it. All the people will get an occasional hit on Friday night behind a great pitching performance. It was Cam Schlitler, outstanding, pitching into the eighth inning. Paul Goltzman hits a home run. Then on Saturday, they get an unexpected great pitching performance by Ryan Weathers, and more outstanding work out of the bullpen, and they ended up winning that game as well. But yesterday, they get bad pitching and they don't score. Well, they ended up scoring four runs against the Phillies, and Christopher Sanchez started for them. He started the all-star game. Six innings, they scored three runs against him. That should be good enough, but Warren didn't have it. But the way the Yankees are presently constituted, without Bellinger, without Stanton, without Judge, they are a team that can't score. So that puts pressure on pitchers. Tonight, you got Max Freed going against the White Sox. Tomorrow, it's going to be Garrett Cole going against the White Sox. On Wednesday, it's going to be Cam Sletler going against the White Sox. And then on Thursday, it's going to be Ryan Weathers going against the White Sox. And then on Friday, it'll be Will Warren again. So sometimes you've got to give you pictures of break. And by giving them a break, you got to be able to score a lot of runs. I mean, a lot of runs. Just pour it on.
