Michelle Seiler Tucker (0:30)
Hi, and welcome to another episode of Exit Rich. You know what I say every week.
It's going to be a fast and bumpy ride. So fasten your seatbelts and get ready.
Because like every other week, I bring you the best guest with the most golden nuggets. Golden nuggets is what we call our chapters in my book, Exit Rich. Today is going to be no different. We have Yannis joining us, Yannis Moati. He's a special guest and he's here to talk to you about his business and his experience on Shark Tank. So he's really created, I think it's a unique business. The sharks are going to say differently, but guess what? The sharks can tell you one thing from the Shark Tank, but the numbers never lie. All you say, don't get mad, get the stats. When you hear his numbers from the first time he was on the Shark Tank stage to what he's doing today, I think the sharks should go swimming because they are now fish bait.
Welcome to the show, Yannis. It's great to have you on today.
Yannis Moati (1:44)
Love it. Hi.
Welcome. Thank you very much for welcoming me in. I really appreciate it. Thanks.
Michelle Seiler Tucker (1:51)
Well, I'm happy to have you here. We're going to bring the energy. It's going to be an exciting show. So fasten up, everybody. It's going to be like drinking from a water hose.
Here we go.
SPEAKER_1 (2:02)
Next into the tank is an innovation in the travel industry.
Yannis Moati (2:16)
My name is Yannis Moati. I'm the CEO of Hotels by Day.
Brian Das (2:20)
And I'm Brian Das, CTO of Hotels by Day.
Michelle Seiler Tucker (2:22)
So Hotels by Day, I love the name. And you know what? I'm going to tell you right now, he serves a great purpose worldwide. Go ahead, Yannis.
Yannis Moati (2:32)
Yes. Yeah, it's a name that describes the product and so we're very happy with that because it's uplifting the marketing. It's helping us with the marketing and targeting. Yes.
Michelle Seiler Tucker (2:43)
Wonderful. A lot of the sharks.
Yannis Moati (2:45)
$1,000 in exchange for 10% of our company.
Brian Das (2:48)
Sharks, our company is reinventing the hotel state. How many times have you or someone you know, traveled to a city just for the day? You get into the city at 8 a.m. and you have a meeting at 1 p.m. What do you do with those hours in between?
SPEAKER_6 (3:02)
There is a massive gap in the market and that is why we've created Hotels by Day. Jimmy, roll the tape.
Michelle Seiler Tucker (3:10)
I will just tell you this.
This is a huge need for this in the marketplace because I can't tell you how many times I've flown overseas, specifically Russia and Korea, and you got an 8-hour layover. Who wants to stay at the airport for an 8-hour layover? I'd rather go get out of the hotel room, take a nice shower, take a nap, sleep for about five hours. If I have to go back to security, I don't care.
Yannis Moati (3:38)
Yeah, yeah. And use the amenities and exactly, and you've got a plush bed, luxury surroundings, absolutely, yeah.
Michelle Seiler Tucker (3:46)
Yeah, so this is a great concept in my opinion.
SPEAKER_6 (3:49)
Allows customers to book a day room.
Brian Das (3:51)
You arrive early at your hotel, you check in early, you relax in your room, you order some room service, refresh, own your meeting and close the sale. Our model is a paradigm shift in the hospitality industry. It generates revenue for hotels, gives guests flexibility, and it closes the loop on the customer journey.
SPEAKER_6 (4:11)
So, sharks, who's ready to check in early with Hotels by Day?
Michelle Seiler Tucker (4:19)
Okay, well done. Well, Brandon wore Brandon's shirts with Hotel by Day. Love that Laurie even got the, Laurie must have got the memo because she's wearing the same color.
So, very good. So, let's see what they have to say.
SPEAKER_4 (4:35)
Why does it feel like a Saturday Night Live skit?
Robert (4:38)
How does it work? Tell me the pricing.
Yannis Moati (4:40)
So, on average, it's six hours that are being provided by the hotel at $90.
