His EXACT System For Writing Scripts With AI — Former Ali Abdaal Scriptwriter, George Blackman

Creator Science with Jay Clouse

October 13, 2026

My guest is George Blackman, a YouTube scriptwriter who got his start writing full-time for Ali Abdaal and has since written scripts for creators from 30,000 to over 10 million subscribers. This is George's second time on the show. Three years ago, we talked about scriptwriting fundamentals.

Where is it worth putting my energy into learning to use AI well? And where should I deliberately take a stand and be like, no, I'm using my brain here because it's actually better to do so?

Jay Clouse (0:09)

Meet George Blackman. He started as a full-time scriptwriter for Ali Abdaal. He's written scripts for creators from 30,000 to over 10 million subscribers, and he now teaches creators how to write their own scripts that keep people watching and turn them into paying customers.

In this episode, you'll learn his exact system for writing scripts with AI, starting with the framework behind every hook he writes.

George Blackman (0:31)

For educational hooks, I always think target transformation stakes.

Jay Clouse (0:35)

He's also brutally honest about the ways AI lies to you in the process.

George Blackman (0:39)

You learn all these little ways in which it may appear to be doing something well, and then the output that comes out, it actually reveals, hang on, it wasn't doing these 10 things that it claimed very confidently that it was.

Jay Clouse (0:50)

Stick around to the end where George shows me the tool he built for writing killer scripts using AI that saves you time without sacrificing your unique voice. Thank you to OneOfTen for sponsoring this video.

When somebody asks ChatGPT who are the best creators in your niche, does it say your name or does it mention your competitors instead? Because the response will only share a few names, and with LLMs, if you're not sighted, you might as well be invisible. That's at the exact moment when someone is deciding who to follow or what to buy. The first step is finding out just how visible or invisible you are to LLMs like ChatGPT. And Ahrefs built a new tool called Brand Radar to show you where you actually stand. It tracks your mentions across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Google's AI overviews and Copilot, and gives you an AI share of voice against your competitors. That means how often you get named when your topic comes up, and whether you're being mentioned or actually sighted as a source. It's built on 481 million real prompts, making it the largest AI visibility database out there. This isn't about gaming AI, it's about finding out what of the work you're already doing, the content, the authority, and the backlinks are translating into AI visibility. So Hilton called on me, the superstition concierge, to make your fan rituals a reality.

Need a room to match your lucky number?

Jay Clouse (2:20)

We got you.

Want to make sure our team doesn't wash your lucky jersey? Oh, that smells lucky.

Jay Clouse (2:26)

Hilton's unmatched hospitality can keep up with any superstition.

Even a marching band wake up call at 5.55 and 55 seconds.

Jay Clouse (2:34)

Hit it. When you need a team that will do whatever it takes on game day, it matters where you stay. Hilton, for the stay.

As just a frame for the overall conversation, some may think that, okay, because we have AI, is that doing all of the work of script writing now? What say you?

George Blackman (2:55)

I think this is a place that everyone is now in, with pretty much any industry, whether it's to do with writing specifically, whether it's coding, whether it's like anything that could feasibly be affected by AI, there is this sense of uncertainty and where should I put my energy right now? Should I be putting my energy into getting really good at ideation because the script can just be written for me? Or is ideation already off the cards? Because AI can just do that for me. Do I even need to bother learning to code anymore because AI can just do that for me? And I think script writing is such a broad church. There are so many aspects to it that even with that, it's like, okay, sure, AI could write my whole script, but should I still be the one looking at my hook because I know the hook is super important? Or are these key moments where I call out to a product that I'm trying to sell or something in the script, are they so important that I should still be using my brain or is AI better than me?

More broadly, we're going to talk about the process that I use these days to write a script using AI. But I think the broader meta skill and the thing to try and figure out, and that I'm trying to figure out, and I think we're all trying to figure out, is where are the parts where it's the most useful? Where is it worth putting my energy into learning to use AI well? Where should I deliberately take a stand and be like, no, I'm using my brain here, not through some moral crusade, but because it's actually better to do so.
