I think I have enough for the next maybe 20 minutes or something like that. This week on Junior Mining Talks, high-grade gold hit sent a stock in Papua New Guinea up almost 50%.
Potash developer in Canada is saying that they're going to have a mine up and running in Q1 of 2027, and the market really liked that. But there was some news out of the Vicuña district, some massive results out of the Vicuña district that felt short of the market's expectation, wiping out almost a third of a company's market cap. Thank you for watching. My name is Antonio, and I am attempting to do a Junior Mining weekly overview for the trading week that ended on July 10th. Fair disclaimer, and honest confession, before we get into any of that, none of the companies that I'm about to talk about are paying us to include them in this overview.
But there is still the possibility that they have paid for interviews in the past and may pay for interviews in the future. So obviously, consider that a bias, pause the screen, read all those claimers that are on there. This is a high-risk business. Second episode for this weekly overview, by the way, so I'm still very much taking in suggestions, feedback, criticisms, free money, whatever you have to offer, I'll try to take it. But really, the goal here is, the idea is to do a quick overview, quick walk through the top movers in the Canadian Junior Mining space to see what's spiking and what's falling and why, essentially. So I'm not here to give opinions, just the facts, and maybe a few annoying questions and make a couple of annoying jokes here and there, questions that I would ask management if I were to do an interview with them right away. And if you want to talk to me about these companies or if you're close with management and want me to do an interview with them, send me an email on antonio at resourcetalks.com.
All right, enough of that. I'm on mininghub.com. Mining Hub was kind enough to keep putting up with my constant requests and helping make these videos or make these videos possible by sponsoring them. And if you don't feel like listening to me every week, you can just make a free account on Mining Hub itself and they'll send you a daily overview of the Canadian and the Australian Junior Mining News straight to your inbox every day. And you can also just get this summary for yourself really so you don't have to listen to me. Now, I've personally set up my parameters to only show companies with a market cap of above $10 million and ones that did at least $50,000 worth of volume and only focusing on North American exchanges. And so this is the list that I've got on here. I'm going to go over the top three best performers here quickly and then I'll get a little bit more in-depth on them later on. Buffalo Potash Corp is up 42.2% this week, now to a market cap of $82.2 million. They're a Potash developer with a project in Saskatchewan, which they hope to have in production in Q1 of next year. McFarlane Lake Mining is the second best performer this week, up almost as much, so 44% to a market cap of $153 million. And they're Canadian Gold Explorer with a project in the Abitibi Greenstone Belt. South Pacific Metals is the third best performer this week. They're up almost 39% up to a market cap of $52 million. And this is an early stage Gold Copper Explorer with a portfolio of projects in PNG, Papua New Guinea, with some of which directly adjacent to K92's Kainan to mine. Moving on to the worst performers here, so we'll skip these two and go down to the losers. Yeah, Mogotes Metals is down almost 33% this week to a market cap of, call it $200 million Canadian dollars. Mogotes is a Copper Gold Explorer looking for porphyries in Argentina's Vicuña district immediately along strike from the Filo del Sol project that's being developed by BHB and Lundin Mining right now. Second worst performer this week was Quartz Mountain Resources, a new name at least for me, which is down almost 24% to a market cap of $31 million Canadian dollars. They're exploring an intrusive-related system in BC, in British Columbia. But recent drilling has been hitting both epithermal gold-silver veins and broad porphyry-style molybdenum mineralization. Third worst performer this week was Canalaska Uranium, which is down exactly as much, so same number 23.6% down to $75 million in market cap. As the name suggests, this is an uranium explorer, and they've got a portfolio of projects in the Athabasca Basin.
