One, two. Well, I'm a little bit under the weather, so cheese is the best wrap.

Alyssa (0:40)

You can't be closing all these deals.

SPEAKER_1 (0:42)

Well, obviously, your identity is obviously like you're doing good, everything is great. It's all about the attitude. But you having the tea is just going to make me a little bit better.

Alyssa (0:53)

Amen. I have your tea ready here for you. But I want to also ask you to pick some chocolate if you like. Are you good to eat some chocolate?

Okay, sweet tooth. Then we all follow me. I'm going to lead you over here to Joe.

SPEAKER_4 (1:10)

Awesome.

Alyssa (1:11)

I know you guys have met before.

SPEAKER_1 (1:12)

Yeah, Joe's my buddy.

SPEAKER_4 (1:14)

Good to have you.

Alyssa (1:15)

Here we go, Joe.

Joseph Shalaby (1:15)

All right. Manny, my boy.

Alyssa (1:17)

Good to see you again, brother.

SPEAKER_4 (1:18)

Hell yeah.

Joseph Shalaby (1:19)

Glad to have you back on the show. Thanks for listening. Of course. I'll be back with you next time. And sorry under the weather, man. Oh, it's all good.

You're going to bring your A game. I know you will. Always. What's up, everybody? Welcome to another episode of Coffeez. I am your host, Joe Shalby. And today we are sitting with my dear friend, Manny Soto, founder and CEO of The Financial Architects. And he is making a very big impact in financial literacy and the financial space in general. Please welcome the one, Eom, Manny Soto.

Manny Soto (1:51)

All right, what an intro.

Joseph Shalaby (1:54)

Right off the top of my head. I didn't need to read an intro about you.

Manny Soto (1:58)

Strong.

Joseph Shalaby (1:58)

I just like to, you know, whiff it. You know, Manny, we haven't talked in a couple years on the show, so, you know, we don't get to ask this question much. But my first question to you, what's your morning routine? Has it changed since the last time we talked?

Manny Soto (2:12)

It changes sporadically.

Obviously, everybody's got a different relationship vibe about themselves. They live in different areas, etc.

Tony Robbins talks about six needs of people. So I'm one of those in his six needs of people. I'm one of those guys that are kind of a loose cannon. So I'm not very go with the norm. So obviously, every day we wake up and we take a shower. We wash the same body part every single time. But when I wake up, I have right there on my wall, grateful, because I want to be grateful for everything that I got. So right out of bed, I do that. I got that grateful vibe. And then I do my stretches, of course. I see my incantations. And then I got my business plan on my mirror.

Joseph Shalaby (2:56)

What are those?

SPEAKER_4 (2:57)

I'm an incredible father.

Manny Soto (2:59)

I have so much money. I don't know what the fuck to do with it all. I have incredible kids. They're athletically pertinent or no, athletically patient is what I put.

Joseph Shalaby (3:07)

All right.

Manny Soto (3:08)

Just things like that.

Joseph Shalaby (3:09)

I like all your affirmations. So let's get into it. Like myself, you grew up poor, you came from nothing and you built a company your family never thought was possible.

So at what point did you realize you weren't just working to survive, you were working to be a vessel for other people to thrive.

Manny Soto (3:27)

There's a book that a friend of mine recommended. One of my mentors, Ed Mylett, he recommended to me, it was 177 mental toughness secrets of the world class. It's by Seibold. And in the book, it talks about working just to get by, being basic, like underperforming, and then someone that's just an elite performer. So when I get into the industry of financial services, I was introduced, man, 23 years ago, I just needed an opportunity. The real opportunity is having an opportunity. So imagine people in Gaza, they don't have an opportunity. They can't go down the street and go, oh, hey, can I sell something to make more money? They're worried about staying alive. I mean, what? We have like almost one third of the world's GDP. There's opportunity all over the place. So when I was given that opportunity, I was like, get out of my way.

So coming from nothing, I mean, everything was good. Every day is a holiday, every meal is a feast.

My mom is from nine brothers and sisters. My dad is from 12 brothers and sisters.

Joseph Shalaby (4:39)

I want like 12 kids.
