He Makes $25K a Month With Just His Phone - Ep. #321
The Koerner Office - Business Ideas and Deep Dives with Chris Koerner
July 28, 2026
━ I sat down with Trevin Peterson to break down how people are making money by filming simple Amazon product review videos with their phones. We talked about how the Amazon Influencer Program works, how to get approved, which products to review, and why longer, authentic videos often perform best.

I'm making over $10,000 per month, but I work no more than four to five hours per week. Another mom of four, she's up in Idaho, she's making $12,000 a month, and she has four kids, and she's doing it part time.
Chris Koerner (0:12)
That's amazing.
Trevin Peterson (0:12)
And now her husband is doing it. And-
Chris Koerner (0:14)
Yeah, why wouldn't he?
Trevin Peterson (0:15)
Profit.
Chris Koerner (0:16)
That's like net commission to you.
Trevin Peterson (0:17)
That's straight to your bank account. There's no overhead, you're not buying inventory, you don't have fees. It's very difficult to not make money. As long as you can read and talk, you can make a video that's good enough for the platform. You only fail if you just don't upload.
Chris Koerner (0:32)
Yeah.
Trevin Peterson (0:33)
But you can't really lose money. You will make money. It's very simple, it's very straightforward and you don't even have to show your face if you don't want to. And there are people that, we're talking grandma and grandpa, 70, 75 years old. Everywhere in between. And there are people that can barely even work technology. Another individual, he has about 1,100 and just last month he did $40,000.
Chris Koerner (0:53)
Holy cow.
Trevin Peterson (0:54)
With 1,100 videos. My brother-in-law, when we got him first started, he did 700 in his first week.
Chris Koerner (0:59)
Holy crap.
Trevin Peterson (1:00)
First week. He averages anywhere from 25 to $30,000 in profit per month. You literally send the address in the first message and the products just start showing up.
We actually did two free garage sales. So we got so many products sent to us that we're like, I don't know what to do. It's honestly mind blowing with how much stuff that we got.
Chris Koerner (1:20)
Yeah. Trevin, thanks for having me.
Trevin Peterson (1:26)
Absolutely. Well, thanks for having me.
Chris Koerner (1:28)
Yeah. I mean, we're in Utah. This is your home turf. But why don't you tell me in one sentence what your business does?
Trevin Peterson (1:33)
We film video reviews with your phone and you upload them to Amazon. If somebody watches that video, buys the product, you get a commission.
Chris Koerner (1:40)
Okay. So you help enable that. That's the thing that Amazon offers and your business, your tool, whatever helps better optimize that.
Trevin Peterson (1:49)
In a nutshell, we help increase commissions and help you save time through automation and data.
Chris Koerner (1:55)
Okay. Do you help identify winning products to review?
Trevin Peterson (1:59)
Yes. Okay.
Chris Koerner (2:02)
By the end of this video, do you think people will have enough tools, whether they use your tool or not, to make money reviewing things on Amazon?
Trevin Peterson (2:09)
100 percent.
Chris Koerner (2:10)
Okay. Is there a type of person that this is a good fit for?
Trevin Peterson (2:14)
You do have to be able to talk on camera. Now, a lot of people will be like, oh, I can't do that. But it's not the typical talking on camera that people think it is. It's very simple. It's very straightforward. And you don't even have to show your face if you don't want to. You can do POV content, where it's just showing your hands. And if you really want, you can...
Chris Koerner (2:31)
You could use these, like glasses or whatever.
Trevin Peterson (2:34)
And if you really want, you can script it, go to ChatGBT, throw in, hey, we got product XYZ, write a script, and then you can do a voiceover.
So you can really simplify it if you want to. But it is ideal if you can pull up your phone and do a simple, non-scripted, just talking about the product as if you were talking to your mom or your brother.
Chris Koerner (2:58)
Yeah. It's funny because I've been posting selfie videos for two years now.
And people that don't really know me are surprised by it, by how naturally it comes, because they know I'm introverted. But people that know me really well are not surprised by it because ever since I've had an iPhone, every time I have a friend that has a birthday, I'll always take an off-the-cuff selfie video for them. That's just goofy. And stuff I would never want to post to the internet. And I just send selfie videos to friends via text. I've been doing that since 2010, right? And so I think that got me comfortable behind the camera, because I knew that only one person would be seeing it.
Trevin Peterson (3:31)
And what's cool with this is it's not being posted to social media.
