Kimi did, as much as he won it comfortably, and it did always seem like it was a foregone conclusion, it wasn't like he sped away into the distance and won by some huge gap. Question for you, was that a symptom of these cars being actually close, or was that a symptom of Mercedes somewhat sandbagging, not trying to overuse their engine because of the reliability woes they've had this year?

I suspect that he was controlling the speed.

I wouldn't call it sandbagging. He was controlling because when then the virtual safety car came out and he lost a few positions, it didn't take him long to catch up again and to overtake.
