Guenther Steiner (1:36)

Hello, Vankahs.

Matt Elisofon (1:39)

What's up, Vankahs?

Brian Muller (1:41)

Greetings, Vankahs. Hold on.

SPEAKER_7 (1:46)

Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh.

Brian Muller (1:51)

See what that was?

Guenther Steiner (1:53)

Yeah, I can't go in. Yeah, the deformation lap. Yeah.

Brian Muller (1:57)

Yeah, yeah.

Guenther Steiner (1:58)

Lewis Hamilton going to the formation lap. Lewis Hamilton going to the formation lap. Yeah.

Brian Muller (2:03)

That's right. We're going to. So now we're going to take about 45 minutes and then we'll do this podcast again. How about that? Just just just because because we want to reflect the pinnacle of motorsport. Gunter, this podcast needs to be a reflection of the pinnacle of motorsport.

Guenther Steiner (2:16)

We rewrite the software, you know, and then we come back, you know, just stay with us guys, just stay with us guys, you know, just hang on. We would be coming back. Yeah.

Matt Elisofon (2:25)

This is a road relevant podcast.

Brian Muller (2:32)

Yeah, nothing. Gunter, nothing says road relevance, like not being able to drive slowly in the rain, huh?

Guenther Steiner (2:38)

Yeah, exactly. Yeah, that is forbidden, you know, that's forbidden. Never drive slowly in the rain, guys, you know.

Brian Muller (2:44)

Yeah, who's going to need to have a car that can function in wet conditions, you know, that's not road relevant. What's road relevant is battery deployment and AI driving your car.

Guenther Steiner (2:56)

Yeah, exactly. Exactly. Nothing else.

Brian Muller (3:01)

Nothing else. Well, this was, I mean, Gunter, this was crazy. This was simultaneously a shit show and a thrill. I mean, this weekend had a little bit of everything.

What were your impressions of the Malaysian Grand Prix by way of Bahrain?

Guenther Steiner (3:21)

I mean, it started off already the Bahrain Grand Prix in Malaysia, you know, that is, you know, OK, it's fine, you know. So we cannot drive. We cannot drive when it's wet and we want to drive slow because it's dangerous to drive fast, you know, so that's not possible. And then we just reinvent the rules and say, oh, it was on the formation lap. So let's go into the pit lane, you know, with the out team being asked and then reset the start from zero. You know, it's just like make it up. Maybe one car has got a lot more of fuel in the car, but who really cares? So, you know, it's all good, you know. But in the end, you know, has it damaged what was the Grand Prix? Actually not.

Right.

Brian Muller (4:05)

Well, that track is so awesome that it made up for everything.

Guenther Steiner (4:10)

Exactly. But also the story afterwards made up for everything, you know, what happened out there. So we are like goldfish, we forget immediately what happened before. So we are just like enthusiastic about what happened in the race. But I think at the debriefs, they don't forget to address quite a few of these things which happened there.

Yes.

Brian Muller (4:32)

Well, we will discuss all of that and more. So much that happened this week, obviously, the formation lap chaos, Max winning his first race of the year. Guenther, you called that, you're looking very pretty, you're extending your league, you're like Kimmy Antonelli in this championship. And call me, George Russell, pulling over to the side of the road within our predictions championship. We'll see what's going on there. Obviously, the Lewis Hamilton come back, Fernando Alonso's got some choice words about what you were just talking about with the formation lap and George Russell out of this thing even more so than he was before. We got all that coming up on this episode of Vankah Hours, part of the Vox Media Network. Before we get into all that few orders of business, make sure you subscribe wherever you are listening to this podcast and make sure that you get your tickets to our live show in Austin Saturday night. The link is in the description, be there or be square. Now let's get to our show. Let's cue the music.
