Hi, friends. It's Tuesday. And like I said, yesterday, we are doing, taking a little journey away from true crime. And we're gonna talk about politics today. This is a deep dive into the Maine Senate race, which is a huge deal right now. Democrats are kind of counting on a Democrat stealing the seat in order for us to win back control of the Senate.
We, as in Democrats, I'm assuming that most of us are Democrats here. But yeah, the hope is that we can win back this seat and yeah, start actually making some changes and pushing back more against Trump. So that's the goal. But there have been several scandals already in this race. Oh, no. Thank you. I know. Isn't that always the way?

That's what I'll say. I'm not going to say anything else, but I will say that my opinion has kind of shifted.

I mean, that's what happens when you actually do research, right? You learn new things, you look more deeply into stuff, and you find out, you know, things aren't black and white, which is definitely a problem that we're seeing on the Internet now. So, Harley, what do you know about US politics? Zero? Yeah. All right, so every state has two senators, and senators are in office for six years. So they are a big deal, and they have a lot of power.
If the House of Representatives, for example, votes on something and passes it, the Senate can shut it down and vice versa. So you got to have the two houses on your side in order to get a lot of shit done. Right now, Democrats have neither house, and obviously we don't have the presidency either. So we're kind of screwed. But we have midterms this November, and could win back the Senate.
I'm hoping. Because right now, the margins are thin. The margins are thin. So every race really counts. And right now, a lot of states are going through their primaries. So what we're going to talk about is the primary race in Maine among the Democrats that are happening right now.
