Hello, my friends, welcome back to Cloud Wars Minute. I think late last week, Google Cloud rocked the whole Agenic AI category here with a very interesting development of what they're calling Gemini Agent. It spans both the personal AI that we've heard a lot about lately from OpenAI, and Grok, and Meta. But also, I think much more importantly, the big focus on it is for Enterprise AI. And at this launch event last week, Google Cloud CEO, Thomas Kurian, I think rightly focused, he touched certainly on some of the technological wizardry behind it. But what he really did very clearly, very specifically, was tie the potential of Gemini Agent and the entire Gemini Stack and AI Stack, that it sits within inside Google Cloud there, tied that very directly to the business challenges customers are facing today and the business outcomes that they're striving to deliver. So a few of the key points that came out of this and in a detailed article I'll have later today on cloudwars.com offer a lot of perspective about why I think this is really a breakthrough product here, mostly in terms of how to address these burning customer issues going on right now. But here's some of my key thoughts around that. Like I said, it spans the personal and enterprise AI space. And anybody that you see that comes across says, well, Gemini Agent is just a me to follow up, we're trying to play catch up to these others. Doesn't get the real story at all here. This is heavily an enterprise AI product, although it can do those other things. The key is that it sits across Google Cloud's world class AI stack, that gives it that more capability, more flexibility and better economics for enterprise customers.

And in his keynote address, Kurian focused on the affordability that comes now with Gemini Agent, the simplicity that they've engineered into it, the wide range of choice they're offering, and also something that Google Cloud and others always bring up that your data is your data, and nothing that we're doing with Gemini Agent is going to compromise or change that. Kurian made a big point. He emphasized quite dramatically, he said the prompt window is the new user interface. It's not one of several, it is the interface. And accordingly, Gemini Agent has been built to address that and to play into this new reality.

Kurian also focused, I think rightly so, on how Gemini Agent with some of the Lake House capabilities within Google Cloud. Now, it can work across and tap into data from all the different major clouds, different data stores, applications, tools, and other solutions. And it's important because of these agents, big part of their promise is the ability to work and across entire enterprise. They've got to be able to go in and work across different vendors, different applications, and so forth like that. Part of this, then, you can say goodbye to egress fees, which have been a pain in the neck. I'll call it pain in the wallet, pain in other places for enterprise customers for a long time. And finally, I think the key promise, of course, the full governance and security that has been a big part of Google Cloud's brand promise for some time. So I just thought it was great to see one of the world's premier technology companies here at Google Cloud talk about a remarkable new technological development. But they talked about it in terms of what this means to enterprise customers, why this matters, how it addresses their chief concerns. If you can just imagine now as the role or the place that customers sit in right now, they're getting these relentless barrage of new technologies, new capabilities, new things of this from all their technology vendors. And I think all the tech stuff, while it's important at a certain level, is really becoming just sort of clutter and noise to a lot of enterprise buyers. They're saying, hey, I'm being pushed inside my organization to do a number of things faster and differently than I've ever done them before. And I need to have tech partners, tech vendors who speak to me in my language about my priorities, my outcomes and the things that I need to achieve right away. So I think this was just a great launch here by Google Cloud, not only for what the product is able to do, but how that aligns with what customer priorities are.
