Hello, my friends, welcome back to Cloud Wars Minute. Over the last few years, Google Cloud has made a number of different moves to address what I believe is an enormous opportunity in industry-specific solutions. They've gone about this a few different ways, always leaving the door open to work very closely with partners, whether that's integrators or ISVs. And I think they're on to now the right way, or the best way for them to go forward with this, as they have now gone industry-specific with Gemini Enterprise. And they're putting around that sort of a complete, what Thomas Kurian calls a system that involves skills plus data plus agents plus partners. Moving forward on this, they're probably going to go across a lot of different vertical industries. The first two they're addressing are financial services and legal. And when the announcement of this, Thomas Kurian, one of the key points that he made was said general purpose AI is terrific. It's got a lot of power, a lot of capability, but it's just not enough to be able to handle these industry-specific solutions. And he describes some points that I go into more detail in a full article that I'll have later this morning on cloudwars.com. He describes financial services, some of the challenges that banks and capital market companies are going through right now, trying to get this work done, that AI solutions built, co-developed with customers are going to be able to help them address.
And one of the things he said here is that this is only the beginning. And I think that could mean a couple of different things. They're going to go more deeply into what they're doing in financial services and legal, and also that they're going to go broadly across lots of different solutions in different ways. But I think the model that they've set out, the foundation they've built with these four pieces to get the skills together that can be encoded into the software, access to all the relevant data, to have the agents out there and Google Cloud says, not just offering suggestions, but actually getting real work done for completing projects. And then to get this completely open to partners, not only to offer it to customers to help with the deployment, but also for partners to be able to build their own skills and capabilities to weave this into the product here. So I think it's a classic case of how Google Cloud's ecosystem and its openness toward its ecosystem creates more choice, more opportunity for customers to get exactly what they're looking for here. And again, I think it's one of the reasons why Google Cloud is number one on the Cloud Wars Top 10, the power of its open ecosystem here. I wanted to understand more clearly from Google Cloud, just how deeply they're going into the development of these vertical industry solutions versus setting up the platform and the foundation for partners to build upon that. So I had a phone interview with Google Cloud Executive Riaz Habibai, and he is in charge of product marketing for Google Cloud AI. One of the big things he said that I really think captures this, he said, Gemini Enterprise for Industries, he said, we put together a nice scaffolding for partners on which they can develop specific solutions. And he said, we also make it very easy for those solutions to be discoverable by customers or prospects and how this is worked together. He kept emphasizing, we want this to be simple, easy. So whether it's a four person law firm or a giant law firm, they've got their own special ways out of this various set of go to market options that Google Cloud is offering to help them be able to quickly realize the value out of this. And that model, Hubby by said, will be carried across the different vertical markets that Google Cloud will move into with this approach with Gemini Enterprise beyond what they're doing with this first phase, financial services and legal. So I thought it was interesting in a blog post that describes Google's move in this direction.
Google Cloud CEO Kurian said that this AI is great, the models are great, but the models can't do everything. So he said, we've built a system that will carry across all of the different vertical industries that we serve. And he said, it will have those four P's together, getting the skills, data, agents, and partners. So this seems like some Google Clouds put a huge amount of thought into, and I think paired up now with the hugely successful Gemini Enterprise, it's going to give businesses now looking to move into AI, not just in a broad sense, but for industry specific capabilities, I think this is going to be a big boost, and I think this is going to be a model that other vendors in the Cloud Wars Top 10 follow. So I said, got a detailed article about this later this morning on cloudwars.com.
