This video is sponsored by Terrahutton, who makes the invisible, investible. The DNL CEO BBQ near-term gold production in Mali, together with Desert Gold. But if you're short on time, subscribe to our free newsletter, and once a week, we'll send you a five-minute summary of all interviews we put out, resourcetalks.com for a free weekly newsletter. Now, although this company has paid us for the production of this video, you should still understand that we are not financial advisors, and this is not intended as financial advice. It is a broad, general, and impersonal piece of information intended only for those who know and understand the risks of junior mining of which there are many. Before moving on, read the company's official filings on Sitterplus.ca and do your own due diligence. Pause the screen and read all the disclaimers I've shown you because your capital is at risk. If this isn't clear, go to the last section of this video for a longer explanation of the risks and biases, and do not consume this content if you don't agree with everything said therein. Moving on, this is not Desert Gold's first time on the CEO BBQ, so if it's your first time hearing about the company, I'm gonna post a link to the previous conversation that I had with Jared. It was also the first conversation that I had with him, so please watch that first. That's where you have the smell test, it's getting the game track record, the basic grilling, all that, which I'm not gonna repeat in here, is this will be more of an update on the build out of the mine. In a nutshell though, Desert Gold is focused on the 440 square kilometer Senegal-Mali Shear Zone project in Western Mali's Cayus region, roughly 120 kilometers south of the city of Cayus, along the same Berymian Gault, the belt that hosts Cediola, Lulugun Kutu, and other major West African mines like that. The latest resource they had on the project is from late last year, 337,000 ounces at about a gram per ton in measured indicated, 880,000 ounces at about a gram per ton in furred.
The development plan is currently centered on the shallow oxide material at one of those zones, because it's multiple pits, essentially, that make up that resource that I just told you. That shallow material is at Barani East. It's where they're building a 200 TPD gravity plan, which of course we'll talk a lot about later on. They did do a PEA on it in late 2025 It models Barani and the Gurbasi deposits at roughly 36,000 tons per month using gravity plus CIL, which they're going to build later on. So the first phase is not going to be CIL, but we'll talk about that as well.
And they're thinking of producing about 113,000 payable analysis over a 10-year mine life at an average rate of about a gram per ton and 87% recovery, which at $2,850 gold, it returned about a $61 million after-tax MPV 10, 57% after-tax IRR, two and a half year payback, and the $20 million US dollar initial capital is needed for that. Mine site ASIC at the time was estimated at $1,137 per ounce. On the ground right now, the gravity plan and a generator have finally reached Barani. There's civil and site preparation work that's underway. Equipment is being mobilized and water holes have been drilled. While the final hydrogeological report is pending, and we'll touch upon that as well. Plan erection and commissioning are scheduled through October 2026, followed up by a ramp up and initial processing in November. And the initial gold recovery is targeted for Q4 of this year, so still 2026, all of which, of course, I'll have some questions about later on. That's not the only project. They do have a secondary asset that is not in Mali. It's called the Tiegba Project, about a 300 square kilometer land packaging Western Cote d'Ivoire. Early stage burying main gold property, though, covering part of the Tahini shear zone. So maybe just a brief update on it in the latter part of the conversation is that's not the focus for the company right now, and it won't be the focus of the conversation either.
Now, for some of the numbers and a bit of the details here, Desert Gold is listed as a DAU on the TSX-V in Canada, where the average three month daily volume is about 323,000 units. The stock's 52-week high is 15 cents and a 52-week low is 6 cents. With a market cap of $48.5 million and $360.5 million shares outstanding today, this is a 13.5-cent stock with a 50 and a 200-day moving average at about 11.5 for both of those.
