Hey, what's up, teammate? How are you doing?
Mina Kimes (0:25)
I'm doing great. I'm in New York. I was in Kansas City for Monday Night Football. I'm excited to actually be talking about games. You were here to help me preview Week 2 Not as many banger games as Week 1
But still, nonetheless, some really good ones. But before we get started, I do work. You are now, Move the Stakes, New Feed, we're going to folks find it before we dive into these games.
Daniel Jeremiah (0:49)
I appreciate you, Mina. It is up the video. The full show lives on the ESPN NFL channel on their YouTube channel. And then I have the Move the Stakes YouTube channel, where we do a bunch of different cutups and things with the draft and what other stuff that I see. And then you just, the audio feed, Move the Stakes wherever you find it. So it's been fun. Had a lot of folks on it, three GMs on already. And it's like, you know, it's football season. I lucked out because I missed out that my gap was during prediction season.
So I got to sit out the three months, the three months of just, you know, let's just make a prediction. I got to skip that this year.
Mina Kimes (1:26)
Yeah, really nice of the Rams and Broncos, two teams I thought would be in the Super Bowl to lay eggs. The Texans. Hey, it's a long season. Well, the Texans looked pretty good. We'll get to them, at least, you know, offensively where maybe the bigger questions were, we're going to go chronologically as always. We're talking about every game, some a little bit longer than others. Some of them, both DJ and I will pick a key. Some of them just one of us will do. But both of us are obviously talking about Thursday Night Football because this is kind of the game of the week, it really is. Lions-Bills is going to be fireworks. Lions, kind of fortunate, I would say, that this is early in the season in Buffalo as opposed to late in the year because there's so much good regardless because of the ability to run the football. But Jared Goff, we know, indoors is a different act. And that's my side of the ball, so I'll go first if that's okay. Lions offense against Bills defense.
So, the Bills defense was an interesting performance. There was week one, things I like, things I didn't. One of the areas, things that I thought like some young players, obviously, Deion Walker had an amazing game. I thought Gregor Soh was good. But I think you did see a lot of their vulnerabilities against Houston who were going to get to that offense later on. So for my key, I wrote Jared Goff hitting in breakers against this Bills defense because going back and watching CJ. Stroud against them, he simply torched them on digs, posts.
On in breakers, CJ. Stroud, who's always very good on in breakers, 14 for 19 for 173 yards and a touchdown against the Bills. Going back and watching, I think you hear that you think, okay, Nikko Collins probably had two gigantic posts. But it was everyone. I went back and watched all of them. You had Jalen Noll on a dig. It was a blown coverage. Harlan Klein, the young tight end on a crosser. Booty had a post on Iqbanah Sun. Jared Wayne had a dig on Benford.
Xavier Hutchinson cooked D. Alford. Maxwell Harrison took his lumps against Dalton Schultz. So it was a team-wide issue and that's why I bring it up as a key because I don't just think it's like, okay, cool, Ahmed Ross named Brown. I really think the Lions and Detroit Goff who is, or Detroit Goff, Jared Goff, who is phenomenal, probably the best quarterback in the NFL, honestly, at throwing in breakers, is primed to take advantage of what I thought was a pretty glaring weakness in this bill's defense week one.

That's a good point and also we'll get to the Houston stuff later, but in talking to them, that they wanted to be a little bit more of a 12-personel team. Marlon Klein came on faster than they expected, and that allows you to work a little bit more on that side of the field. I could go in a million different directions on the Houston side, but I'm going to stay on task here. Greg Rousseau, I looked this up because when I watched it, I liked him a lot coming out and I thought this is a really good game for him last week. When I watched his production, I went back through my notes. Mina, he's been in the league forever. He's 26 He's only 26 years old. He came in as a 20-year-old. Yes.
