What is his height?
Chris McMonigle (0:01)
Does he really?
Craig Carton (0:02)
Yep. You can let it play a little bit, Pete. Geez, it's like jumped right out of it prematurely.
Friday night.
Chris McMonigle (0:11)
And I feel all right.
Craig Carton (0:13)
I need you to tell me before he tells ya.
Chris McMonigle (0:16)
Six two.
Craig Carton (0:17)
Higher, Bob.
Chris McMonigle (0:18)
Six six.
Craig Carton (0:20)
You wanna take a guess, Pete?
Chris McMonigle (0:23)
Six four.
Craig Carton (0:25)
Six four.
Not six four, not six two. No. Do you know who's singing the song?
Chris McMonigle (0:32)
I do, yeah.
Craig Carton (0:33)
Okay, who's singing the song?
Chris McMonigle (0:34)
Montell Jordan.
Craig Carton (0:34)
Okay. You want to take another shot at it or no?
He announces his height in the song.
Chris McMonigle (0:45)
Six three.
Craig Carton (0:46)
Six eight.
Chris McMonigle (0:47)
Six eight.
Craig Carton (0:48)
Six four eight, he stood. That's what he says in the song, Montell Jordan.
Chris McMonigle (0:53)
On his TV show, he looks very small.
Craig Carton (0:55)
Doesn't he though?
Chris McMonigle (0:56)
Yeah.
Craig Carton (0:58)
Maybe a different guy.
Chris McMonigle (1:01)
Is it even Montell Jordan or is it just Montell?
Craig Carton (1:04)
There's Montell Williams.
Chris McMonigle (1:05)
Montell Williams.
Craig Carton (1:06)
Yes. I think he got MS or something.
Chris McMonigle (1:09)
Did he?
Craig Carton (1:09)
Yeah. I think when he stepped out from the talk show, he also had a couple of sex scandals.
I think he might have been banging a lot of the guests, possibly. But when your guests are, hey, I'm a ho and I want to tell my husband I'm a ho.
Chris McMonigle (1:26)
Yeah. I mean, Jerry Springer had to be.
Craig Carton (1:30)
Jerry Springer's probably got kids all over America right now.
Chris McMonigle (1:34)
The height of our culture when Jerry Springer was must watch TV.
Craig Carton (1:38)
Beat Oprah in the ratings.
Chris McMonigle (1:39)
No, he was huge.
Craig Carton (1:40)
Yes, that was a very big deal.
Chris McMonigle (1:42)
Very big deal.
Craig Carton (1:43)
All right, we get all your calls 888-808-1019.
Football out of the gate. I want to hear from jet fans going into New England and giant fans, are you nervous about this game against the Saints? I think you should be.
Not that we base everything on point spreads, but it just doesn't make any sense for a 3-1-1 team at home to be underdogged against a 1-4 team. That doesn't make sense. Then we also have to be honest. I know Giants fans don't want to hear this from me, but I'm your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man, and I'm objective about all my takes and comments. The reality is that while you should celebrate 3-1-1, you also have to be real with yourself when you look in the mirror and recognize that 3-1-1 legitimately, based on how those three wins ended, could very easily be winless outside of the cowboy game. Pardon me.
Chris McMonigle (2:38)
In the cowboy game, they won, clearly.
Craig Carton (2:39)
I forget the tie. No, you're right. You legitimately have played well enough to be 3-1-1 and poorly enough to be 1-3-1. Because remember, Titans game, Cam Ward picked off last play of the game. Cardinals game, first and goal from the four, picked off on fourth down. And they don't run the ball with Jeremiah Love. And then obviously Washington going in for what should have been a relatively simple, although there were a bunch of kicks missed, to be fair.
But a field goal to beat you in overtime, obviously they have the brain fart, Jaden Daniels runs the ball, they don't get the field goal unit on the field. So yes, enjoy the wins, celebrate the wins, you earned them, you deserve them. Nobody looks back and goes, Oh, well yeah, but no, no, wins are win.
But you haven't beaten bad teams by a lot.
Chris McMonigle (3:30)
They could be one in four on a four game losing streak right now.
Craig Carton (3:32)
You haven't dominated anybody. Absolutely not. You haven't been clearly better than anybody.
Chris McMonigle (3:38)
No.
Craig Carton (3:38)
And the Saints might be of the bad teams you've beaten, the best of them offensively for sure.
Chris McMonigle (3:47)
That they've won the game against? Yes.
Craig Carton (3:48)
Yeah.
Chris McMonigle (3:49)
Right. They're better than the Cowboys. I don't know if they're better offensively than what the Cardinals provide, but I don't know.
I know this. They're lousy defensively. And right now, despite the idea, which to be fair, right, things could have broken those games completely. It only would have taken one play to go a different way. And the Giants are 1 and 4 They find ways to win. Yep. And they're beating the teams they should at home. That's the floor of John Harbour. He comes in here, lousy teams don't come into this building and beat the New York Giants.
