Hey everyone, welcome to Bless This Mess and the True Crime Podcast. I'm Cara, here with Stu. Say hey, Stu.
Stu (0:24)
Hey.
Cara (0:25)
All right, we are back this week, and we are going to Georgia. Georgia, oh my, is that what that is?
Stu (0:33)
Yes, would you like me to sing that?
Cara (0:36)
No, but you know what it reminds me of is he was singing that in Practical Magic, and Practical Magic 2 comes out now.
Stu (0:42)
Willie Nelson was singing that?
Cara (0:44)
No, the dead guy.
It's a song he sings in the movie, him with Nicole Kidman, the boyfriend that they killed, the abusive boyfriend. Anyways, Practical Magic 2 comes out now, but I am upset because they didn't use the original daughters. They got new people to play, I guess, the daughters. I don't really know the premise of it all. The premise.
Stu (1:11)
Did they generate AI characters?
Cara (1:13)
No, it is not like our, we had to call, AI has completely taken over because we called Sam's Club. Well, our favorite activity right now is getting things delivered via drone.
Stu (1:24)
Yes.
Cara (1:24)
So that's our new thing right now. I post a video of our first one. It was like, I don't know. We were just like, what the? It's so crazy.
Stu (1:32)
It said, for 99 cents, we can ultra pass deliver it to you.
Cara (1:35)
Steve's like, I ordered a drone deliver. I'm like, okay.
Stu (1:39)
Let's see what this is.
Cara (1:41)
Yeah. It was crazy. It's well worth the 99 cents. So, and then we called, they deliver our Sam's Club today and most of it was missing. So like a human, not a drone. The drone would have gotten all here, I'm sure.
The human delivered it and most of it was missing.
Stu (2:00)
Two out of eight items arrived. Yes.
Cara (2:02)
And so Stu tries to do the chats, like the chat's not available, you need to call. So, because they always make it so difficult when you want to get, fix a problem. So he calls and it's like, hi, I'm Sam's Club new AI assistant, advocate or something like that. And then, but what was creepy is it wasn't like a robotic voice.
Stu (2:22)
She was coming on to me.
Cara (2:23)
It wasn't a robotic voice. It sounded like a real human. I mean, they even had her saying like, uh, um, okay, let me see, is it this? But then you started getting into the, you could tell she was AI because then Stu started telling her thank you. And I was like, stop thanking the robots. I think he was doing it on purpose because he felt she was flirting with him.
Stu (2:42)
I was doing it to agitate you and it worked.
Cara (2:44)
But our son did think the drone whenever he sees like, thank you. It's like, no, we can't be thinking the robots. We can't humanize them.
Stu (2:52)
You gotta be nice to the robots when they take over.
Cara (2:54)
This is true. So yeah, that's our current fixation.
Stu (2:57)
That way we're the last to be killed.
Cara (2:59)
The drone. We're in the big, we're in big city now. We're not in the little cities anymore. We can get drone delivery. But anyway, so back to our case, um, so pull up your rocking chair and listen to this quick little reminder.
So this is our weekly schedule. So on Mondays, if you're new here, on Mondays we step outside the South for our Little Less Mess mini-sode. So that'll come out, like I said, on Mondays. And that's just me telling a story. I really enjoy doing those because there's a lot of cases I like to cover that are outside the South. So that gives us, gives me the opportunity. And then on Thursdays, this is our regular fooling cases right here on the main feed. That's what you're listening to now. And so if you want those Thursdays episodes early and ad free, plus our Friday bonus show, Sit and Sippin and Bullshitin, come join our Patreon family. We even have like little text message threads. You can send us messages and stuff and we see them and respond back. It's like a direct message type thing. You can also keep the porch light on by visiting our Buy Me a Coffee page to treat us to a sweet tea.
Now while you're at it, make sure you're following us on TikTok, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube. There you can catch my true crime and dinnertime which is what I'm going to do for my Sunday soup.
