It's AI Chat. I'm gonna post all of these news episodes, and I'm also posting interviews, like I just interviewed the CEO of Cohere. They've raised over a billion dollars for their AI model, talking about what they're gonna be spending the money on and the direction of the AI industry, along with all of this new stuff. So if you wanna go check it out with no ads for free, it is AI Chat.

Welcome back to the podcast. Today, we're talking about one of the best side hustles you can actually do right now, making money with AI, and that is by training AI models with your own data. So whether or not you know it, you may already have data lying around that could be sold, or you can create new data and send video footage over, a video and audio footage, I should say, over to these different companies who are essentially data buyers who will use your data to train AI. And so this is actually, there's a ton of opportunity. We're going to talk about all the different ways you can make money selling data today.

But before we do, Jayden, why don't you tell them about our school community?

Jayden (1:06)

Yeah, every week, guys, we record a bonus piece of content exclusively and post it over on the school community. We explain how we're growing and scaling our businesses using AI tools. Today, we recorded a whole breakdown on how you can do your first week on a new side hustle, everything we recommend that you apply in order to actually create a successful business. So this is something that's interesting to you. We have hundreds of videos on this, and we would love for you to be part of the incredible community of over 1,300 people. It's $19 a month, and our goal is for you to be making $10,000 a month in passive income from different side hustles using AI.

Okay, so what I wanted to talk about today really quick is how to create a business doing egocentric data. So basically, if you haven't heard of egocentric data, it's the data that robots use to train them how to do different tasks. The way that you create egocentric data is you're going to get, there's a whole bunch of different rigs, but the absolute most basic way to train robot data is with your iPhone, and with a head mounted, with a headset like this that you can buy on Amazon for like $10, you literally strap something like this to your head. It has this little mount on the front of it. You take your iPhone with the camera facing down, you'd stick it into here, and you would tighten it, and literally you would just hit record and walk around with your hands inside of the frame so that your hands can be seen. Oh no.

SPEAKER_2 (2:36)

Yeah, your emergency.

Jayden (2:37)

Yeah. Oh, you get the idea. That is exciting, right?

SPEAKER_2 (2:42)

That was exciting.

Jayden (2:43)

There's a bunch of different companies, but essentially what you'll do is you would just hit record, and then you'd do your dishes, and then you'd end it, and then you'd hit record, and you'd fold your laundry, and then you'd stop it. The secret with egocentric data is that your hands have to be in the frame for the full amount of time, and they don't want you to, the companies that buy egocentric data, don't want you to hit record, and then do something, and then go watch TV for 10 minutes, and then do something. They basically, they have two different stipulations. One is they want your hands in the frame always, because it's training the robot, and number two, they want it to be, it's like action rated. So like how much action, how much of the video is the hands moving? And if they just sit there for like five minutes, not moving, they'll actually exclude that. So basically, the point is, you hit record, do a task, and then you end recording, and you just label whatever that video was, like you just named the file. So what I typically do is I have like a hard drive, like this, that I will plug into the bottom of my iPhone, and you can just transfer, you can drag the video file off of the iPhone. iPhone Pros are especially good, because they actually are, they're actually capturing like all of this extra data from all of the sensors on the iPhone.
