In terms of Soylent 2.0, I just didn't think the bottles would work out well for me. Yeah, just because of how we use it.
That said, if you have a bottle in the fridge, you're guaranteed to have enough for one meal in that fridge.

**Rob Attrell** (0:15)
I know, it's amazing.

**Nick Maddox** (0:17)
Yeah, someone in the household takes outrageous amounts of Soylent. And then there's not enough for a full meal left in the pitcher, just one outrageous meal.

**Rob Attrell** (0:41)
Yeah, I keep three in the fridge at home. Like, I keep three at home all in the fridge, and I keep two at work in the fridge at all times.

**Mike Attrell** (0:49)
Hold on, before we start, I'm going to go get one. Because I haven't actually had breakfast yet.

**Nick Maddox** (0:54)
So now I have a plate of cookies that someone made last night.

**Rob Attrell** (0:59)
Ooh, that's kind of like Soylent, solid Soylent.

**Nick Maddox** (1:03)
There are four cookies, and not even half the amount of Soylent I would usually have. That's a balanced breakfast, right?

**Rob Attrell** (1:10)
Yeah.

**Nick Maddox** (1:11)
I'm an adult.

**Rob Attrell** (1:12)
Can you dip the cookies in the Soylent and report how it tastes? Or is the neck of the drinking thing not big enough?

**Nick Maddox** (1:21)
If I do this, I want it in the show, Rob.

**Rob Attrell** (1:25)
I'll put it in the show.

**Nick Maddox** (1:26)
This whole little conversation here. We're in uncharted territory here, boys.

**Rob Attrell** (1:35)
Mike, we're doing a real live experiment.

**Nick Maddox** (1:38)
So I've just completed phase one of the experiment in which I dipped a cookie into the Soylent.
But I've discovered that that doesn't work particularly well. So I'm going for the second dip. I don't know if you can see here with the cookie. There's more texture here. There's a lot of texture there.
The outside is fairly sealed. So I'm going to dip with some more pockets that might catch the Soylent.

**Rob Attrell** (2:11)
Yeah, you got to go for the nucleation sites.

**Nick Maddox** (2:14)
Okay.

**Rob Attrell** (2:16)
So it's not good.

**Nick Maddox** (2:19)
Well, it's not good, but it's not bad either. Like the Soylent is so bland that it easily melds in with whatever the cookie tastes like.

**Rob Attrell** (2:30)
Right.

**Nick Maddox** (2:30)
But that said, when you bite a wet cookie, you expect it to have some extra flavor like milk or coffee or whatever.

**Rob Attrell** (2:40)
Yeah.

**Nick Maddox** (2:41)
And it just tastes like a wet cookie.

**Rob Attrell** (2:46)
Interesting. But it is a more balanced breakfast than just having cookies, I guess.

**Nick Maddox** (2:53)
Well, when you only have half of your normal amount of Soylent, you got to supplement it with something.

**Rob Attrell** (2:58)
Right.

**Nick Maddox** (2:59)
And when you're running five minutes to the show and you don't have anything else.

**Rob Attrell** (3:04)
Oh, absolutely. Yeah, I completely agree.

**Mike Attrell** (3:07)
Have any of us tried baking with Soylent yet?

**Rob Attrell** (3:09)
No, I don't really bake at all. So have you?

**Mike Attrell** (3:13)
No, but talking about a cookie, it reminds me of I've seen recipes for Soylent cookies, or at least protein powder cookies. I'm assuming you can adapt Soylent to those same recipes.

**Rob Attrell** (3:25)
I'm curious about that because it would give you the experience of food.
But not needing it. Maybe if there's some kind of no bake cookies so that you could not potentially ruin any of this stuff that's in it. I don't know.

**Mike Attrell** (3:38)
As far as like the minerals and whatnot.

**Rob Attrell** (3:42)
Not that a lot of them would not be impervious to that, but...

**Mike Attrell** (3:45)
It's not like you're grilling or frying it on like a 600 degree Fahrenheit surface. I think most of the stuff would be preserved at 350

**Rob Attrell** (3:54)
Yeah, I would think so. Anyways. Hello! Welcome to the show.
And after that live experiment, Nick, does this mystery piece of follow up you have fit at the beginning of follow up, or should it be in the middle or at the end?

**Nick Maddox** (4:12)
Oh, let's go straight in the beginning. So I went to the Calgary Zoo yesterday. It was like a group interview for new volunteers.
And I had two people ask me about the podcast. So if you're listening, welcome.

**Rob Attrell** (4:34)
So they recognized you from the show?

**Mike Attrell** (4:36)
I was going to say.

**Rob Attrell** (4:37)
Are you listening?

**Nick Maddox** (4:38)
No, I mentioned that there was a show. Because one of the questions was what brings you to the Calgary Zoo?
