Full Show: Yankees Dismantle Red Sox as Broadcasters Call for Violence

Yes, sir, yes, sir. 201, straight up. Still doesn't sound right, but that's okay. It's The Carton Show with Big Mac. And it's just me today, Big Mac, Ryden, Solo. Of course, Gallo and Hoffman are with us as Craig is off the entire week. Here on The Carton Show, we will. I will not do the entire week by myself. We will have some hosts later in the week. Right now, today, it is just me as we welcome you in on this just beautiful Monday. We will get to a lot today. We have the finalization of the rosters for both the Giants and Jets. Odell Beckham is back with the Giants and number 13 is available. Some other notable cuts from the New York Giants. We will get to the Jets as well. The Mets take on the Tampa Bay Rays, but we start with the dismantling of the Boston Red Sox done by the New York Yankees in more ways than one. That was, we talked about heading in how important the series was. And not only did the Yankees do themselves what they needed to have done and take three of four. And that last game last night, the difference in what hung in the balance of that game, where if they lose it, they're two games up.
With losing the tiebreaker, essentially one game up to where they sit today, four games up with the tiebreaker, essentially five. The difference of four games hung in the balance last night. And not only did the Yankees win the game, not only did the game end in embarrassing fashion for the Boston Red Sox as they had a middle infielder on the mound getting pummeled to the tune of 16-1, but it also seemed to have broken the Red Sox broadcasters, the Red Sox fan base. I mean, you couldn't make more of a statement. They outpitched them, they outhit them, they outplayed them in all the talk about how the Yankees don't play well, the Yankees make mistakes. You got the Toronto Blue Jays broadcast begging for another postseason series because of how dumb the New York Yankees are. Everybody comes and takes shots. The Boston Red Sox are the hottest team in baseball. They've made up a gap of 15 and a half games the last time they played the Red Sox. Now it's down to two heading into the series. And all the pessimism and all the stuff going on and the Red Sox were hot. And then they came in and got their ass kicked for three days and four games. I mean, that's what happened. They got completely shut down Friday night by Cam Schlitler and that wasn't even him at his best. And then the Yankees offense that was nowhere to be found over the first two games opens up and just explodes for 25 runs over the last two games. And that's the kind of statement that needed to be made. And now that they are five games up and clear of the Boston Red Sox for that top wild card, avoiding what would have still been. And we see why. The Red Sox provide a little bit of a problem, left handed, we're gonna get to that at 888-808-1019, all of their left handed pitching. And how the Yankees have to, I've never seen a lineup. And we could talk about 1996 and some of the different versions of this Yankee team dating back to the Dynasty 90s, right? And Cecil Fielder and Charlie Hayes and some of the platoon natures of this team. But you go into a series and play left handed pitching, and suddenly the middle of your lineup is dramatically different. Not like, hey, the 7-8-9 looks different or, oh, there's a new 6 hitter in there. Or you know, Ramos is playing left and batting 8th. The entire heart of the lineup is completely different versus left handed pitching and right handed pitching. And it's how the Yankees wanted it. It's how the Yankees have built this team. It's not, I know, like the entire series, the fan base is just over and over with the lineup. Why does it look like this? Why is Rice sitting? Why is Garcia sitting? Why is Ramos playing? And we'll get to it and go through all the different matchups. But it's because the Yankees have built themselves in this manner. And I was screaming about it on Friday about Garcia not playing. But you can't argue after what just took place. You can't argue after Paul Goldschmidt comes through with the home run Friday night, the base hit yesterday, and pretty much wins two games for the New York Yankees before the nonsense as they blew up the game in the later innings. But the thing about this series was they came in the hotter team, they came in the team that had made the jump and got back into this race. And the New York Yankees told the Boston Red Sox that they had a cute little couple a month and a half, but they are the dominant force between the two. They win the series. And more than that, they have broken the team.
