It's The Carton Show with Big Mac! On a gorgeous Monday afternoon in New York City, phone number to join, 888-808-1019.

The tale of two franchises yesterday, as the New York Giants once again find a way, some way. Part of a horrendous play calling by Mike LaFleur, but a win is a win. Another interception in the end zone to take another W to go to 3-1.

All beat against the Cardinals and the Titans in back-to-back weeks, but nobody has to apologize for who you beat. And then, of course, the flip side is the New York Giants reminding us, it's just the same old Giants, an embarrassing non-competitive performance that has ended our season. Good afternoon, Big Mac. How are you today, kid?

Chris McMonigle (0:52)

I'm doing great, Craig. How are you? You still feeling positive about the New York Giants?

Craig Carton (0:56)

I am not.

Chris McMonigle (0:57)

Still coming off a loss feeling like there was a lot to gain from it? Still feel like you're confident with this team, this coach, this franchise, after, you know, hey, a competitive game against the Lions. That's a game they haven't been competitive in before.

Craig Carton (1:09)

No, no, no, no.

SPEAKER_4 (1:10)

This wasn't competitive.

Chris McMonigle (1:11)

This was nothing. Nothing that was perceived gained from the loss against the Lions was carried over into this week against the Bears. That's for sure.

SPEAKER_4 (1:20)

They got embarrassed.

SPEAKER_5 (1:21)

It's an embarrassment.

Craig Carton (1:22)

It's a, we'll start with them just to get out of the way, I suppose. It was, they took a major, major step and a half backwards yesterday. We all talked, oh, we could have beaten Green Bay.

SPEAKER_5 (1:32)

We didn't.

Craig Carton (1:33)

Oh, look, we were competitive against the Lions. Lost, right? And then obviously yesterday, and I acknowledge the Chicago Bears are a better team. You're playing against Tyson Bajan, man.

Yeah, you're playing against a quarterback who hasn't played a football game in years. And I'm not saying you have to go to Chicago and beat them. I'm not saying that. But off the heels of the three weeks in which we bought into the notion, ah, this is a different jet team. They're competitive. They fight back. They make plays. They've got great offensive weapons. They're the number two ranked defense in the NFL going into week four. What?

It was every single thing that's been wrong with this franchise for more than a decade now. Bad coaching, bad play calls, bad players, bad, bad, bad, bad, bad.

SPEAKER_4 (2:26)

Non-competitive crap.

Craig Carton (2:28)

Oh yeah, by the way, we had 17 interceptions yesterday, but only one of them counted. Like, come on, guys.

Chris McMonigle (2:35)

Not everything about that game. I mean, just again, we don't have to go through the numbers because it's already two o'clock and we've been inundated with the numbers, but just the time of possession, the yards compared to what the Bears were able to put up to what's the Jets put up. I mean, it was just one of the more just one-sided, non-competitive games. It's as bad a performance as the Jets have put forth. And I'll tell you, here's the one of the things that jump out at me because I've been saying over and over again, trying to be positive about this team, the weapons they have, the weapons they have. And I know they're without Breeze Hall, but they get four targets to their best wide receiver. Right, explain that. Explain, I know they ran 32 plays, right? They ran 32 plays in the whole game. They had the ball for 17 minutes, so I get it, but how does he have four targets? How do they not use these weapons over and over again? We talk, the offense should be this, the offense should be that.

It's just the frustration I have over the inability to have the players that should be playmakers on this team involved in the game plan is astounding to me.

Craig Carton (3:38)

Yeah, and by the way, I said this to start the season while everyone else was kissing Frank Reich's ass. I wasn't. I don't like Frank Reich. I never have.

He's a clown as an offensive coordinator. Good guy.

SPEAKER_4 (3:49)

Nice guy. He hasn't helped at all.

Craig Carton (3:50)

Yeah, but look, Frank Reich, you're right. You know, Breece Hull's out. Obviously, you've got one running back. By the way, I think it's the first time in jet history that only one running back came on the field the entire game. No depth at all running back, apparently. And again, I know the Chicago Bears, we'll get to that. Chicago Bears had the ball 95% of the game. So you're going to say to me, or Frank Reich is going to come out on a Thursday with his little analytics. You know, in the history of football, only 32 players go...
