It's The Carton Show with Big Mac on a gorgeous Friday afternoon in New York City.

Craig Carton (0:13)

Phone number to join, as always, 888-808-1019.

Got a great show for you today. And of course, a lot of our attention is going to be on this crazy weather that's coming in. But it's interesting to me that for the last, God knows how many hours in this radio station, there's been a baseless, ugly attack against the Bronx Bombers as an organization.

Chris McMonigle (0:37)

Wah, wah, wah, well, CC Sabathia, wah. It's not right, wah.

Craig Carton (0:46)

So allow me to say this, because there needs to be a voice to raise. Good afternoon, Big Mac, how are you? I'm doing well. Great. Okay, four o'clock game today, 315th ceremony to honor the great CC Sabathia, the ace of the pitching staff, back in 2009, when you won your last championship, Hall of Famer, all the good stuff that comes with it, okay?

There are moments in time when you have to put your selfish desires aside, Evan Roberts, and this is one of those moments. There's a natural disaster that is headed our way. It's already started to hit the shore, as many of you know, obviously, depending on where you might live and where your friends and family lives. People are going to die this weekend, and for the last four hours, I got to hear the Yankees are wronging their fans.

Chris McMonigle (1:41)

I can't believe the Yankees moved the day to the CC Sabathia game to today.

Craig Carton (1:47)

They didn't do it because they don't like their fans. They didn't do it because they don't respect their fans.

There is a natural disaster coming our way. We are going to lose power. We are going to have tree damage. We are going to have roof damage. We are going to die.

Not all of us, of course, but a few of us are going to die in the storm.

Chris McMonigle (2:09)

And the best you guys can do is, I can't believe the Yankees are screwing their fans when it comes to CC Sabathia.

Craig Carton (2:17)

CC Sabathia told the Yankees, I got a lot of people coming from out of town.

I got hotel rooms bugged, I got flights bugged, I got people staying in my crib. So let's just make it Friday at 315 and it's all good.

Chris McMonigle (2:31)

I can't believe the Yankees. What do you want the Yankees to do?

Craig Carton (2:36)

There's a natural disaster coming our way. There's got to be 73 feet of water on the streets of New York, Connecticut and New Jersey.

Chris McMonigle (2:46)

Oh, I can't believe the Yankees.

Craig Carton (2:48)

The Yankees are trying to accommodate the fans and CC Sabathia. And trust me on this one, you'll get over it.

It's not going to negatively impact your life. If you had a ticket for this weekend when CC was going to be honored, and unfortunately, you can't go to it. They're refunding you your money, so you're not on any money. I hope so. Okay. And you're going to get a ticket, I guess, to a game next year, whatever the case may be.

Chris McMonigle (3:17)

Yeah. It's still a little murky on whether or not you're getting your money back. Some people did call the show today and said that they have that, but that's not in the press release.

Craig Carton (3:24)

Because today's game, the four o'clock game, you need tonight's ticket to get in. That's the point.

Chris McMonigle (3:28)

And by the way, nobody's going.

Craig Carton (3:30)

Why?

Pete Rossi (3:31)

Yeah. Natural disaster.

Craig Carton (3:35)

Like come on, guys.

Chris McMonigle (3:37)

Look, sometimes even though it's a natural disaster, there's frustration. And I could understand any Yankee fan who feels like months in advance, they purchased the ticket specifically for Saturday. And not only is that game being canceled, but they're...

Craig Carton (3:50)

Oh, stop. One at one at a time.

Chris McMonigle (3:52)

Okay.

Craig Carton (3:52)

The Saturday game is being canceled.

Chris McMonigle (3:54)

Everyone understands that.

Craig Carton (3:55)

Why is it being canceled, Big Mac?

Chris McMonigle (3:57)

Say it with me.

Chris McMonigle (3:58)

I believe it's a natural disaster.

Chris McMonigle (3:59)

Natural disaster!

Chris McMonigle (4:01)

Yes.

Craig Carton (4:02)

So it's like the Yankees woke up today and said, huh, how can we screw our fans? I know what we'll do. We'll cancel Saturday's game.

Chris McMonigle (4:10)

People are going to die.

Chris McMonigle (4:13)

You're making me laugh at that. Stop.

Chris McMonigle (4:15)

Why are you laughing at people dying?
