The plot revolves around the girls spending another summer apart, each embarking on their own personal journey. Carmen finds herself unexpectedly thrust into the spotlight in a Vermont theatre production, while Lena grapples with her feelings for her ex-boyfriend Costas and a new romantic interest. Bridget travels to Turkey for an archaeological dig, where she confronts her past and her mother's suicide. Meanwhile, Tibby faces a pregnancy scare that tests her relationship with her boyfriend Brian McBrien, played by Leonardo Narm.
