Hey there, from Los Angeles, it's Totally at the World Cup. Football in America is a game of four quarters, and it's reached the quarters. So here's the latest from ours. Sports, everyone.
French kicking in the USA, France advance past Morocco, but Mbappe exits with eyes on ankle. Can Kylian return for the semi? And who will France be facing there? Spain or the man who took on FIFA, the USA and Belgian public opinion, Rudy Garcia and Belgium? Thursday afternoon in that Los Angeles. Friday morning in many other parts of the globe. And ladies and gentlemen, we've got ourselves a brand new signing. Joining these still so far undefeated Tom Williams is Tim Spiers.
Ooh, Tim. Tim, that was magnificent.
**Tim Spiers** (1:06)
Thanks Jimbo. Thank you.
**James Richardson** (1:08)
Tom, you concur?
**Tom Williams** (1:10)
Yes, absolutely. I mean, we're almost running out of things that you can do for your-
**James Richardson** (1:15)
I think, is that new? You've seen anyone, any player do that?
**Tim Spiers** (1:19)
No, that's just work. Spiers brand, yeah.
**James Richardson** (1:23)
Good for you.
**Tim Spiers** (1:24)
Thanks.
**James Richardson** (1:24)
Tim, lovely to see you, by the way.
**Tim Spiers** (1:26)
Great to be here.
**James Richardson** (1:27)
Well, that's great.
**Tim Spiers** (1:28)
Live in LA.
**James Richardson** (1:28)
We've been having fun here. What have you been up to? How long have you been out here for?
**Tim Spiers** (1:32)
I've been out here for about 10 days in the States, I was in Seattle.
**James Richardson** (1:35)
We're seeing some pictures here. That's a statue of Jimi Hendrix.
**Tim Spiers** (1:39)
Yeah, a very musical and friendly city, which I think is accurately reflected in these two pictures. A real fan festival of football. I didn't think anything could compare to the Euros, but genuinely, Seattle was like being back in Germany for the Euros. Everybody loves their soccer there anyway.
**Tom Williams** (1:57)
Soccer capital, isn't it?
**Tim Spiers** (1:58)
Well, you walk into any bar or shop and you'd hear people say things like Norway or Ismaila Saar.
You're just not expecting that at all. It's just American people really getting into the shortcut.
**Tom Williams** (2:11)
Plotting which countries to invade. Sorry, Seattle. I know that's what you're buying.
**Tim Spiers** (2:17)
That's the tone of the live show in LA, is it?
**James Richardson** (2:19)
Jimi Hendrix. Is there a big Seattle connection with Jimi?
**Tim Spiers** (2:22)
So he was born there.
**James Richardson** (2:23)
Oh, well, that's one.
**Tim Spiers** (2:25)
So fairly substantial. So there's lots of Hendrix and there's lots of Kurt Cobain. Who, in fact, I went to the bar that he apparently was the last bar he ever sat in. Oh, yeah.
And he was in some booth in the corner of the bar. But a legendary sort of story.
**Tom Williams** (2:41)
You would advertise that if it was your bar, would you?
**Tim Spiers** (2:44)
Oh, they do, yeah. Because they get all the Cobain super fans coming in.
**Tom Williams** (2:48)
Right.
**Tim Spiers** (2:48)
Just around the corner is that Hendrix statue. So it's a great, great musical and cultural sort of city. I loved it.
**James Richardson** (2:54)
Wow. So the picture on the left, I'm going to call it, with the lion's head and there's a gentleman with a hat of quite terrifying proportions.
**Tim Spiers** (3:06)
Yes.
**James Richardson** (3:07)
And then there's the police on bicycles kind of looking well disposed to all the merriment.
**Tim Spiers** (3:12)
And they were all very friendly. You could chat to any of the police officers. Oh, yeah. About anything really. And yeah, this was Senegal and the US fan and the Belgians were all there loving it. It was just, yeah, a real, a real.
**James Richardson** (3:22)
Got the official sponsor in as well. Good, good work.
**Tim Spiers** (3:25)
Thanks.
**James Richardson** (3:25)
Yeah. Excellent. We had a day off yesterday, didn't we?
**Tom Williams** (3:29)
James. Yeah. Had a lovely time.
**James Richardson** (3:30)
We went to Malibu.
**Tom Williams** (3:31)
Went to Malibu. Had some beach time.
**James Richardson** (3:33)
Oh, before that, we went to the Dodgers.
**Tom Williams** (3:35)
Yes. The Dodgers. That was good fun.
**James Richardson** (3:37)
Yeah.
**Tom Williams** (3:38)
I enjoyed the baseball more than I thought I would.
**James Richardson** (3:40)
Well, you were lucky enough to see a moment of history at Dodger Stadium. That man there on the left, Shohei Otani, striking his career 300th home run. Boom.
**Tom Williams** (3:52)
The second that we arrived, we were kind of, you know, queuing up for overpriced beers and sampling the merchandise options. It was, oh, we should probably go and watch some baseball. Went around the corner. He walks out to bat and second ball, second go, it's a home run. Yeah.
