Holocaust, we're home. We're back with the Fortean Fifty, and this time, we're right at the Hollow Lair's front porch. Good old Illinois. Love it or hate it, it's what we call home. Illinois is no slouch when it comes to cryptids. It's always been in the top five for Bigfoot sightings, and I know we've covered a few interesting cases here, like the Chicago Mothman, the Mad Gasser of Mattoon, and even an interview about a curious sighting of the Enfield Horror. Lucky for you, we're back. Back with a creature lurking in the swamps of southern Illinois, a towering black cloaked figure that hops throughout an Illinois town, reptilian beasts seen beside a quarry, followed the very next night by a silent craft that seemed to shoot straight into the sky. There are giant owls, wolf-headed humanoids, flying creatures, invisible beings, frog-like monsters, and even old newspaper accounts of giants buried beneath the Illinois soil. Some of these stories are decades old, some are remarkably recent, and tonight we're going to find out just how weird Illinois is.
