We're doing a film study, and he's like, man, I don't know if that woman's gonna come off the stool. She got her ass beat, like, I don't even know why she's coming off the stool. And I said, man, I don't even sound like a jerk, but that's why you're not a fighter.

I'm coming off that stool if I'm her saying, I want to punch that bitch in the face. She just whooped my ass, you know? She just took me down, elbowed me in the face ad nauseum. I want to get up and go punch her back. So, you know, you hit people, you get hit by somebody, you rightfully get mad. The thing to do is hit them back.

Cool, it's MMA, that's what you're supposed to do.

Okay, welcome back or welcome to the Finding Mastery podcast. I'm Michael Gervais. My trade in training, I'm a sport performance psychologist, as well as the co-founder of Compete to Create, where we're taking the insights from my partner, head coach Pete Carroll, and how he's developed cultures to help people become their very best. And then my insights from the psychological framework on what are the best practices to help people who are hungry to find their best, to do just that. What are the ways that we can train our mind to excel, basically. So the idea behind this podcast, Finding Mastery, is to learn from people who are on the path of mastery, to better understand what they're searching for, how they organize their internal world, their external world, to understand the nuances of what it means to be human, and what it means to express oneself through a craft. And we want to dig to understand what are they searching and aching for in life? What are they driven by? Where does that come from? The deep stuff, as well as the more mechanical, mental skills, how do they use those mental skills to refine their craft?

I want to take a minute here to announce a really exciting event that we have coming up. As you continue to navigate the challenges and opportunities of 2024, I want to pose a question. What are you doing right now to be great with stress? How are you working with stress on your pursuit towards your most important ambitions and goals? And I just want to get right to the heart of the key elements, one in particular, for what it takes to excel in today's high heat, high stakes world. Because stress is not the problem that we think it is. Stress is a synonym for change. And our ability to be agile with change, that is the real opportunity at hand. So if you're wanting to unlock extraordinary results and sustainable performance in your life, it's not about avoiding or reducing stress. And as simple as that sounds, it's very tricky to do, but it is about fundamentally changing your relationship with it.

And that's why I'm so thrilled to invite you to a special event. It's a free virtual event that we're offering, and it's called The Power of Embracing Stress.
