Play ya, swinging past your knees. Doug Kezirian joins the program now. Long time NBA better, friend of the show, host here on VSIN as well occasionally. Good to see you, my man. How are you?

Doug Kezirian (1:18)

Happy Tuesday. Happy NBA season.

Mitch Moss (1:19)

Right out of the gates.

Doug Kezirian (1:20)

Blown 23-point lead.

Derek Stevens (1:22)

Right out of the gates.

Mitch Moss (1:23)

Only in the NBA.

Doug Kezirian (1:24)

Just lovely, isn't it?

Mitch Moss (1:26)

70-250 just vanishes, boom, and they lose and they get...

Doug Kezirian (1:28)

We need to track this the whole season. Any 20-point lead, take a snapshot of the live money line. What happens if you put one unit on the dog in every 20-20 game?

Derek Stevens (1:35)

In every game. Great call.

Mitch Moss (1:36)

Throughout the entire year.

Pauly Howard (1:37)

Great call. What were your thoughts on these teams coming into the year?

Doug Kezirian (1:40)

I like the... So I joined Primetime last night. I said, I like the Celtics in this game. I liked first quarter team total, first half team total. I just thought that the Pistons, I'm not going to say they were exposed, but last year, the offense ran entirely through Cade Cunningham and defenses clamped down a little bit, forced the ball out of his hand, and then the offense got stagnant. But it was also that Orlando loss. Let's face it, it was Jalen Durd facing his ex's new boyfriend or whatever that Angel Reeves backstory was. And it came down to like a couple of plays here and there that'll decide a series.

I like the shooting that they added in the off season.

And it's just, you know, every year there's a team or two or three that takes the regular season way too seriously. Last year, the Pistons, two years ago, the Cavs. It was the Grizzlies teams all those years and they were talking smack and Clay Thompson's like, what are you guys doing? Like we have all the rings and then we beat you in five in the postseason in a gentlemen's suite. So some guys just go a little too much. So I thought there'd be some regression on that front from the Pistons. And I think the new lottery odds are going to sort of lower the ceiling of some of these regular season teams because they're not going to get the automatic wins in the second half after the all-star break that they normally got. Like these teams were, some of these teams at the bottom were having 200 win percentages after the all-star break, four or five wins each. Now, there's probably going to be like seven, eight, nine. They're still going to be bad, but there won't be these automatic wins that you get on like the back to back in Washington or something like that.

Mitch Moss (3:00)

So you have some player props for tonight. But before we get into those, state your case. You're on the Spurs under their win total.

Doug Kezirian (3:07)

Yeah, I mean, look, there's you guys are talking about it last this hour, like or last hour, I should say. Wemby is no luck to be healthy. And obviously I love watching the guy and I want him to be healthy. But maybe he had the blood clots a couple of years ago. Wasn't he playing like off the bench in some games last year in the regular season? Who knows what manifests itself with this coach and some of the hot seat component? Did they add Billy Donovan to the right? So you got the coach in waiting, essentially like we do with the Jets and Frank Wright.
