Plenty on last night's game, week seven look ahead numbers.

We'll spend some time talking about the NHL as well. And we have NBA Futures and Game 2 ALCS coming up on the program as well. I would say this Pauly, as often as we previewed the Monday night game yesterday on the show, we kept going over that total, right? And the market was basically saying, yeah, 54.5, not enough. Went to 55, went to 55.5.

And every game now in the NFL, there's only been a handful, but to close with a total around that number, we've all now gone over on the year. And I would say that if those two teams last night, if they played 100 times, I mean, I don't know what the number would be, but I'm going to say it's going to be way more than 50% of the time, it's going to go over 55 points. I mean, it might go over 80 times out of 100

Pauly Howard (1:36)

I think if they play 50 times, that's the result, 49 times. I think if they play 50 times, 49 times, both teams score in each quarter wins. How does that happen? That was just, it was two different games. The first half was 13 to 7 And the Rams, who get whatever they want for an entire half, are milking clock and running the play clock down to one on every single play, what they were doing.

But I love this sport and it's so proper for men. We've had three coaches in the last 24 hours apologize and say they're the reason that their team lost yet again after what happened.

Mitch Moss (2:10)

I thought it was about 10 coaches that had to do that this week.

Pauly Howard (2:12)

Yes. But and then you have a stubborn coach who the definition of insanity, I expect something different to happen with my special teams when it's haunted me and cost me the one seed last year. And in nine games, the last nine games, I missed two field goals. I missed a field goal last week.

I had a punt return and missed a field goal in Seattle for the one seed. I had a punt blocked in a playoff game and I allowed an opening kickoff to almost be returned for a touchdown.

Mitch Moss (2:41)

Sure. Why not? It was ugly. Their defense was also terrible last night, speaking of the Rams. Some of the tackling in that game, like, God, the defense on paper is supposed to be really, really good. And it was embarrassing again last night. Also, I thought both coaches really whiffed big time in the game. And I'll expand on McVeigh coming up in a little bit. But first of all, the Bills, I thought at the end of the regulation, they gave the Rams way too much time. They scored to make it 34-27 with like 90 seconds to go, a little bit more than that. Wait, in today's NFL, unless you're the Chargers, that's way too much time to go down the field and score. And that's exactly what happened.

I can't believe that in overtime, well, first of all, why would you kick off to the Bills in overtime?

Why would you do that?

Pauly Howard (3:28)

Awful decision.

Mitch Moss (3:29)

Because you are getting whatever you wanted going into overtime on offense. They were not going to stop you.

Pauly Howard (3:34)

Mitch, we just saw it. It happened Sunday night. Atlanta was gassed on defense. Baltimore goes right down the field. Give me the ball. Collinsworth was wrong. I put Pennix on the field. No, they are not going to stop them. Same thing. Give me the ball.

And I want the ball twice if that happens.

That's exactly right.

In that high scoring of a game, you can go right down the field and score again. Odds are your defense is not going to stop the Bills. And so do they go for two or is it a field goal fast? We don't if you get you can get the ball back one more time and go and win the game. Did you think that you were going to stop Buffalo?
