Last night, in Waco, Texas, Tesla finally unveiled their flying Tesla Roadster. Zero to 60 in under one second.
Emad Mostaque (0:08)
It is street legal. There's nothing to stop you from strapping a rocket to your car.
Anousheh Ansari (0:11)
What would be the cost of insurance for that?
Salim Ismail (0:13)
He's two generations ahead.
Anousheh Ansari (0:15)
I'm surprised that it's not autonomous, and it's only, you know, human-driven car.
Peter Diamandis (0:19)
I think the cost for a frontier model to complete a robot subtask fell from $2.36 in July to $0.38 in September, 84% drop. Having a cost every three weeks means it effectively goes to zero, you know, within the year.
Salim Ismail (0:35)
We've been looking at AI that doubles every 10 weeks, and that's been mind-boggling. Having every three weeks may be the fastest moving capability we've ever seen.
Peter Diamandis (0:44)
How do we create alignment within the labs and the models and humanity?
Salim Ismail (0:50)
We don't have alignment among human beings.
Anousheh Ansari (0:52)
They're trained to win, no matter how you get to the answer, as long as you win.
Emad Mostaque (0:56)
All wars are basically based on one thing. That person is not a human.
SPEAKER_5 (1:02)
Now that's the Moonshot, ladies and gentlemen. This episode is brought to you by the Abundance Summit and Link Ventures.
Peter Diamandis (1:13)
First of all, I want to just point out what cups. I've got Moonshots. What do you have, Salim?
Salim Ismail (1:18)
I've got Exponential.
Peter Diamandis (1:19)
Of course you do. Emad.
Emad Mostaque (1:22)
Artificial Intelligence.
Anousheh Ansari (1:23)
I've got Gratitude.
Peter Diamandis (1:24)
Yes, you do have Gratitude. Yeah, for sure. Anyway. All right.
I love having you guys in the podcast studio. That's great.
Salim Ismail (1:32)
Welcome.
Peter Diamandis (1:32)
Emad. Salim, you've been here before.
Salim Ismail (1:34)
I have been here before. We did our one-hour organizational Singularity conversation here.
Peter Diamandis (1:39)
Yeah. Emad, welcome. Welcome.
It's good to have you here in the States. Thanks for coming over for Visioneering. It was a blast to have all of you guys here.
SPEAKER_6 (1:50)
Yes.
Peter Diamandis (1:51)
Yeah. It's a pleasure. All right. Well, let's get going. So welcome to Moonshots, everyone, your number one podcast on all things exponential, your front row seat to the singularity.
Today, we're here to have a conversation across a few breaking news stories, but in principle about the worlds of incentives, how we incentivize human AI alignment and how we dive into human purpose. I think it's one of the conversations we've had before that how humanity is going to define purpose in the future is critical. We need purpose. We need some level of struggle amongst ourselves. So I'm here with my extraordinary Moonshot mates, Salim Ismail.
Salim, love you buddy.
Salim Ismail (2:33)
Good to be here.
Peter Diamandis (2:33)
Yeah, it was great to have your family here as well.
Salim Ismail (2:35)
It was awesome.
Peter Diamandis (2:36)
Yeah, for sure. And you've just flown in from Singapore.
SPEAKER_6 (2:39)
I have. So you have no idea where on the planet you are.
Salim Ismail (2:42)
In fact, we recorded the last podcast episode, I hopped on a plane, came here for visionary and now we're here again recording again.
Peter Diamandis (2:49)
Yeah.
Salim Ismail (2:50)
No, I can't get away from the recording.
Peter Diamandis (2:52)
No rest for the wicked.
Yeah, as Alex says, it's going to be a continuous recording sometime. Continuous models coming out and continuous recordings.
Salim Ismail (2:59)
Continuous recording, yeah.
Peter Diamandis (3:01)
And Emad, a pleasure pal. Great to have you here. And we have a special guest with us today, Anousheh Ansari, the CEO of the XPRIZE, my patron saint. I'm going to give her story in more detail later. But we just finished a couple of days of XPRIZE Visioneering, our annual event where we discuss what prizes to launch.
We narrow them down and we have a whole group of philanthropists who fund them, and we'll share some of the stories there. So Anousheh, it's been a long time coming.
Anousheh Ansari (3:31)
I know. I'm so excited to be here. I've been a listener for a long time. Now I'm here.
Peter Diamandis (3:36)
Yeah, for sure. And I just want to do a proper introduction for you before we get fully started. So for those of you who don't know Anousheh, Anousheh is the CEO of the XPRIZE. But I met her back in 2001 when I was trying to fund the original XPRIZE, right? I had launched this $10 million competition and unfortunately didn't have the money.
