What's up, everyone? Welcome to the 741th episode.
Austin (0:23)
Yes, yes.
Bobby (0:24)
Great start.
Steve Sarumi (0:28)
Steve, with me is Bobby.
Bobby (0:31)
Hello.
It's hot. I'm just going to say that. It's 91 degrees right now. It is too hot in San Diego right now.
Austin (0:41)
That's all I got. Steve and I got our It's Super Effective hoodies on. You're not joining us.
Bobby (0:46)
Not a chance.
Steve Sarumi (0:50)
Austin here.
Austin (0:51)
I've been sick all week. I got nothing fun going on. However, the day you're listening to this, if you're listening to it on day of release, it's my birthday.
Bobby (0:59)
That's all I got.
Steve Sarumi (1:00)
Oh, my goodness. That's all I got. Happy birthday.
Bobby (1:04)
Happy birthday, Austin.
Austin (1:05)
Thanks.
Steve Sarumi (1:06)
I expect all the YouTube comments to say happy birthday, Austin.
Austin (1:10)
I hope we get some comments just to boost up the video.
Steve Sarumi (1:13)
You know, well, we have a good birthday show for you this week. Pokémon HOME is getting updated.
That's awesome.
Austin (1:26)
Thank you so much for that.
Steve Sarumi (1:29)
There's going to be a gold, golden go that you could buy made out of solid gold. We'll get to the cost of that.
Pokémon cards are coming back to McDonald's. Now, we talked about this maybe a week or two ago, how there was no booster packs.
Austin (1:46)
Yeah.
Steve Sarumi (1:47)
But maybe now we know why there isn't, because there's going to be a Valentine's set this year. We'll talk about what that means. If you cannot go to, oh yeah, next year.
Within like five months.
Bobby (2:01)
Yeah, within this next year, yeah.
Steve Sarumi (2:04)
If you can't go to Pokemon Night Out, which even if you wanted to, it's like pretty much sold out in LA., they announced they're going to be streaming that. So you can just watch it, which maybe is a better experience for most people. Then last week, we recorded the episode early because I was supposed to go to Boston for a city safari. That got canceled, which we already recorded the episode, so that got canceled. Then since then, they've rescheduled it, so we'll talk about that. Then Minior will make its Pokémon GO debut.
I think everyone, maybe for the first time ever, is really happy on how a Pokémon is debuting in Pokémon GO.
Then if you stick around for our bonus segment, which is patreon.com/pkmncst for $5, you can hear us talk about an $8.4 million Pokémon card being sold, which I think is a huge scam. I will tell you why it's a scam, for $5, which that is not a scam.
Austin (3:12)
It feels like one of those self-help courses that is obviously like, they're just trying to get... But no, this is good info, for reals.
Steve Sarumi (3:21)
Anyway, if you want to hear about TCG stuff, the card game, that'll be our bonus segment.
Let's start off with the Pokémon HOME stuff first. I guess this news is from the Pokémon HOME app. I'm just going to read off Sarumi, because I don't want to actually open my phone to read this news.
Bobby (3:41)
It would also take like three minutes to get the app to load.
Austin (3:45)
Everything, yeah.
Steve Sarumi (3:46)
Yeah. So it has been confirmed that Pokémon HOME is undergoing maintenance on Wednesday, October 7th, UTC on Wednesday to 6 UTC. This maintenance will coincide with the Switch and the mobile version of the app being updated to 4.1.0. And then Mr. Joe Sarumi is sending this update. Confirmed to give app connectivity with Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen. And we know that this should go from 6,000 storage to 9,000 storage.
Which, that feels good, thank you, Oka. Although 10,000 is just a better number, but I don't think 30 boxes go into 10,000 nicely.
Bobby (4:31)
They don't, no.
Steve Sarumi (4:33)
Yeah. Oh, maybe just go 12,000 then.
Bobby (4:36)
Yeah.
Austin (4:37)
Yeah. Honestly, the more storage, the better.
Steve Sarumi (4:39)
Yeah, just literally double it.
Bobby (4:42)
I can't imagine it takes a whole lot of server storage space or anything.
Steve Sarumi (4:49)
The store Pokemon?
Austin (4:50)
Yeah.
Steve Sarumi (4:51)
Yeah. How much data it needs to remember your ribbons. So much data that you still cannot see which ribbons your Pokemon has on the Switch version of the app. Fantastic. It's great. For the part where you could mass delete or maybe organize. I just don't understand that. I'm already angry. I just don't understand that workflow. If I'm actively moving Pokemon between sword and shield and Scarlet and violet, I'm using my Switch because those are Switch games. Yeah. So if I'm like, oh, cool. I'm moving like 100 Pokemon over. Oh, maybe I should like mass release 30 of these because I can't do it in either of those games.
