, okay.
It's working. We had some technical difficulties. Ladies and gentlemen, Song Yedong, Cheeto Vera. Yedong, we were talking about, is an alpha male guy, and it seemed like there might have been a visa issue, and then they cleared it up just in time, but Uriah Faber apparently weighed in yesterday.
Brendan Schaub (0:18)
That would have been fun.
Joe Rogan (0:18)
But I heard he would, I read, I might be wrong. Jamie, see if you can find this out. Okay.
Brendan Schaub (0:23)
Trying to sync up the clock.
Joe Rogan (0:25)
I think they were saying that it was going to be a lightweight fight.
Like if Uriah agreed to it. Like if Uriah was going to agree, it's like, okay, look, I weigh like 165 I'll get down to 55
Brendan Schaub (0:37)
That's fair.
Joe Rogan (0:37)
Yeah.
Eddie Bravo (0:38)
And Cheetah was down either way?
Joe Rogan (0:39)
I don't know. See, I saw it when I was running out of the house, that it was an issue, but then that Song Yudong's visa problems came through.
I called his last fight, I believe. He's wicked.
Brendan Schaub (0:52)
He's very good. His hands are very good. It's hard too.
Joe Rogan (0:55)
Yeah, it's real hard.
Brendan Schaub (0:56)
He's on Team Alpha, man. I'm trying to think he's still there.
Eddie Bravo (0:59)
He got caught with the left.
Joe Rogan (1:00)
Yeah.
Brendan Schaub (1:01)
Cody Garbrandt's gone.
Joe Rogan (1:03)
Marlon's very dangerous. And he's creative. He'll do wild shit. Cheeto will set you up with stuff.
And he takes big chances. He'll throw a flying knee on you. He's a very, very game dude.
Eddie Bravo (1:15)
And really smart.
Joe Rogan (1:16)
Yes.
Yeah, and look how smart he is defensively here. He's just staying on the outside. He knows this guy's super dangerous, using his kicks.
Eddie Bravo (1:26)
He's throwing a lot of head kicks.
Joe Rogan (1:27)
And he's putting pressure on him, man. Putting a lot of hard kicks.
A lot of pressure on him. But he was doing it from a kicking range too, right? Yadong's like real good hands. He's real dangerous and tight like this. What's you're looking up for Uriah?
The question was, was Uriah Faber willing to step in for song Yadong because of a visa issue? And was it going to be a lightweight?
Brendan Schaub (1:56)
At 155, yeah.
Joe Rogan (1:57)
That's what I thought. I'm pretty sure I read that. But I was half-assing my reading.
Brendan Schaub (2:01)
You're skimming through it.
Joe Rogan (2:02)
Just skimming through it.
Brendan Schaub (2:03)
That's what I do.
Joe Rogan (2:03)
Sometimes I'm just busy.
Brendan Schaub (2:05)
I look at the picture on it.
Joe Rogan (2:06)
I'm sorry.
Brendan Schaub (2:06)
Yeah, I know.
Joe Rogan (2:07)
That's why everyone's so uninformed, me included.
Barely paying attention. There's too much to pay attention to.
Brendan Schaub (2:12)
But then I throw it out like it's fact.
Joe Rogan (2:13)
Yes.
OK. Uriah Faber made a surprise appearance at the Wayans today. He weighed in at 153.5. The reason he did so is because song Yadong weighed 145.5, had a potential visa issue, that may preclude him from fighting tomorrow. This is from Ariel Haewani's Twitter page. And it says they're all trying to sort it out.
Two main questions are right now, can the issue be sorted out in time for the event? If not, would the commission allow Faber to fight Vera, who weighed in at 145.5?
Brendan Schaub (2:46)
Oh, and he weighed eight pounds heavier? I don't think, well, it's fucking Florida, so anything goes.
Eddie Bravo (2:50)
Doesn't matter now. The fight's on.
Joe Rogan (2:52)
It is only eight pounds though, isn't it?
Brendan Schaub (2:54)
That's a big difference.
Joe Rogan (2:55)
Right, it is a big difference. But what do they usually say in terms of like what they'll allow?
Brendan Schaub (3:00)
They kind of, I thought it was.
Joe Rogan (3:04)
That makes sense.
Brendan Schaub (3:05)
Yeah, it's such a big difference, right?
Joe Rogan (3:07)
God, it's such a spooky part of the sport.
The weight, yeah. Dude, whenever I stand next to Kamaru Usman, I'm like, how the fuck do you weigh 170 pounds ever?
Brendan Schaub (3:16)
Well, dude, think of, what was that, UFC 249 that you commentated, Kader and Stevens, Stevens, you know, missed weight by five pounds. He was like, all right, we're not going to make it. Then he balloons the fuck up. And the kid was like, all right, I guess we'll do it, man.
Joe Rogan (3:31)
Yeah.
Brendan Schaub (3:32)
