TopicsComedy
Brendan Schaub (0:15)
The gang is back, we're back.
Bryan Callen (0:19)
It was a good dinner.
Joe Rogan (0:21)
We had a wonderful dinner at Eddie V's. And now we're here to see one of the most compelling fucking championship fights in a long time, a really interesting one.
Brendan Schaub (0:30)
Well, it's never happened before. Number one pound for pound versus number two pound for pound, both in their prime.
Joe Rogan (0:35)
Both champions. Moving up a weight class, you know, it's the whole thing, everything.
SPEAKER_5 (0:39)
And then Yair Rodriguez and Josh Emmett.
Joe Rogan (0:42)
Yair Rodriguez is one of my favorite guys to watch.
Bryan Callen (0:44)
Killer.
Joe Rogan (0:44)
Because he, look at that. Look at that jumping round kick. He does like Tae Kwon Do shit, but he does it with a guy who knows everything else.
Oh, that elbow is amazing.
Bryan Callen (0:56)
That was nuts.
Joe Rogan (0:57)
But he's so dynamic, man. The stuff that he does, he does 360 roundhouse kicks. Remember when he fought BJ, he hit him with a 360 roundhouse kick to the face.
Eddie Bravo (1:04)
Is he the most dynamic striker in UFC history? No.
Joe Rogan (1:08)
No. He's the most, he's the best Tae Kwon Do style kicker.
Eddie Bravo (1:13)
That's dynamic. Tae Kwon Do takes it to the limit. Tae Kwon Do does all the stuff that Muay Thai doesn't.
Joe Rogan (1:18)
But dynamic is everything. Dynamic is who lands the most telling blows. Like who's the most crushing.
Eddie Bravo (1:24)
Maybe dynamic isn't the word.
Joe Rogan (1:25)
Izzy, Izzy or Pejeda in the future. If his career continues to go the way it is, the way he knocked out Shawn Strickland, the way he beat Izzy.
Pejeda is a two division world champion in glory. I mean, he's as dynamic a striker as you're ever gonna get.
Bryan Callen (1:40)
The Unabomber Cheetah. The Unabomber Cheetah and Wonderboy Thompson.
Eddie Bravo (1:44)
Who has the most different strikes in MMA history?
SPEAKER_5 (1:49)
John Jones. No, no.
Joe Rogan (1:51)
Different strikes. If you talk about like-
Eddie Bravo (1:52)
They're significant that he can fuck you up with.
Joe Rogan (1:54)
You're talking about like the whole breadth of the techniques.
SPEAKER_5 (1:58)
You might say Yair.
Joe Rogan (1:58)
That's what I'm saying. You might say Yair.
Eddie Bravo (2:01)
If I'm wrong, I would love to know who's better than him.
Joe Rogan (2:03)
Well, Wonderboy, when he fought Kevin Hollen, Wonderboy, you're just gonna have a straight stand up fight with Wonderboy?
Brendan Schaub (2:10)
He's gonna light you up.
Joe Rogan (2:10)
Oh my God, he's so good. The difference between a guy that's being threatened with takedowns and not being threatened with takedowns, they made some sort of crazy agreement, but Kevin Hollen said, let's just stand and bang.
And Wonderboy's like, okay.
Brendan Schaub (2:22)
He's like, hell yeah.
Eddie Bravo (2:23)
I love it. How many strikes does Yair have in his arsenal that that no one else has? That no one else has.
Brendan Schaub (2:33)
Like Emmett doesn't have?
Joe Rogan (2:34)
That elbow, what does that elbow, what does that come from? The elbow's amazing.
Eddie Bravo (2:36)
Did he make that up?
Brendan Schaub (2:37)
He's very creative.
Joe Rogan (2:38)
No, no, no, I think that's a Muay Thai. It's basically a spinning elbow, but it's a spinning uppercut elbow. It's just an up elbow.
Eddie Bravo (2:44)
No one's ever seen it, right?
Joe Rogan (2:45)
No one's ever seen it that way. Anderson landed it on Tony Fricklin, but it was a standing up elbow. Remember that? Like he stepped in. Yeah, very different.
Eddie Bravo (2:52)
If you saw that in a Bruce Lee movie, you'd be like, okay, he took it too far. It's too crazy.
Brendan Schaub (2:58)
See, and I didn't put money on the Emmett, we can on the Emmett, Yair Rodriguez fight. I'll take the guy who's doing the meat and potatoes the best over that flashy stuff.
Joe Rogan (3:08)
Sometimes.
Bryan Callen (3:09)
Usually, unless it's Yair.
Joe Rogan (3:10)
Sometimes. But Max Holloway's meat and potatoes, and when Yair and Max Holloway fought, Max Holloway was getting lit up. I mean, he wound up winning that fight. It was a very close fight and it was a dangerous fight. Yair Rodriguez throws wild shit and he's so fast with it. Like, he'll be third round. He'll throw a fucking jumping wheel kick.
Bryan Callen (3:28)
Well, when he was younger.
Explode. When he was younger, Frank Yeager.
Joe Rogan (3:32)
Ate him alive.
Bryan Callen (3:33)
Was too experienced. Yes. All that flashed. Frank Yeager goes, I'm just gonna meet you halfway. I'm gonna meet you at a distance where those kicks don't matter. Took him down, beat him up.
