Ooh, wee, hey everybody.
Jamie Vernon (0:04)
It's Fight Companion.
Joe Rogan (0:07)
If you never heard one of these podcasts before, it's supposed to be us watching the fights, and we're definitely gonna watch the fights, because Jim Miller is right about to fight Joe Lozano. Holla!
Eddie Bravo (0:17)
Oh, shit!
Joe Rogan (0:18)
But we're also intoxicated, and we will be talking shit about completely unrelated subjects.
So don't totally expect, but people get mad, where's the fight breakdown, bro? Where's the analysis? Doesn't always happen, folks.
Eddie Bravo (0:34)
Disclaimer, bitch, disclaimer.
Joe Rogan (0:36)
We don't have a producer.
This is as close, I mean, we have Jamie, but we don't have an executive that's telling us how the show goes, so we just talk. But the fight is gonna be awesome, for sure. It's a rematch. Remember that fight, the first fight?
Eddie Bravo (0:51)
I don't remember any fights.
Joe Rogan (0:53)
Crazy bloodbath, dude. Really close fight. It was a war.
Eddie Bravo (0:56)
What happened?
Joe Rogan (0:57)
I believe Miller won a decision. Jamie, see if I'm correct.
Eddie Bravo (1:01)
Damn, you don't even remember. If you don't remember, how am I supposed to remember?
Joe Rogan (1:04)
It was a super, super close fight. I'm pretty sure that Miller won a decision, but I remember it being really tightly matched. If you look at these guys skill-wise, you think about them, both guys are, at this point in their career, super consummate pros. They're real similar in that regard, almost mirror images, in the fact that these both guys are so competent, and they have some amazing victories, like Miller, when he tapped out Olivera.
Lozan just knocked out Diego Sanchez. I mean, come on, that was probably one of his best victories ever. How about when he was 19, I think it was, when he knocked out Jens Pulver, remember that shit?
Dude, Lozan's a beast.
Eddie Bravo (1:44)
Look at this shit!
He's got a leg lock! Oh shit, oh shit, good defense, good defense right there.
Joe Rogan (1:51)
Both guys are super legit on the ground.
Eddie Bravo (1:53)
Fuck yeah.
Jamie Vernon (1:55)
Miller won the first one in the decision.
Joe Rogan (1:57)
Yeah, see? My memory's not that bad.
But I remember it being a fucking war, right? Was this split decision, Jamie?
Jamie Vernon (2:04)
Unanimous.
Joe Rogan (2:05)
Unanimous decision.
Eddie Bravo (2:06)
These are the kind of fighters that fight to their full potential. They have so much confidence, they've done it so much, so much experience that you could trust them, no matter what crowd you put them in front of, no matter who you put in front of them, they're gonna perform like they do at the gym at their best.
Joe Rogan (2:20)
Yeah, that's a great way of describing it.
Eddie Bravo (2:23)
Seasoned as fuck. They're like that chipotle fried chicken and shit.
Joe Rogan (2:29)
Three minutes and 50 seconds, 48, 47, 46, 45, if you wanna sync up in the first round. Yeah, this whole card is fucking bang up, man.
I was real excited about this card.
Eddie Bravo (2:43)
They're both really good strikers, they're both really good wrestlers, they're both really good at jiu-jitsu. I mean, Jim Miller is a wrestler. He's legit black belt. That guy's really good off his back.
Joe Rogan (2:53)
Remember when we tapped Fabricio Camões? Tapped him in an armbar from the guard.
Eddie Bravo (2:57)
I don't remember.
Joe Rogan (2:58)
I was like, holy shit.
It was legit as fuck, dude. His jiu-jitsu is no joke.
Eddie Bravo (3:05)
And Lozano as well. Lozano's MMA jiu-jitsu is top shelf.
Joe Rogan (3:09)
Nasty, he's nasty.
Eddie Bravo (3:10)
He'll get you in transitions. He's a finisher. He put you in a triangle.
It's probably 98% rap city, you know?
Joe Rogan (3:18)
You know what I like about Lozano too? It's like he goes from zero to 100 miles an hour, like instantly.
Eddie Bravo (3:24)
He hits hard as fuck.
He's game. He's a true savage. You put him in the fucking, in the Coliseum against lions and shit. He'd be right there, dude. You know what I mean?
Joe Rogan (3:33)
And you know what's interesting? Super nice, super smart guy. When you talk to him, he's like a tech wizard. You know, you talk to him about video games, and he used to work on computers.
And when he dives on shit, man, I mean, he like completely, fully commits on things.
Eddie Bravo (3:49)
This is some serious shit right here. This matchup right here, it's like Pepino Cuevas versus Tommy Hearns or some shit, you know?
