Four teams on by in week six, Cincinnati, Detroit, Miami and Minnesota. So let's beat the waiver wire while we can. I'm Adam Aizer with Dave Richard. We're going to give you the advice on who to pick up for week six and beyond, but also some guys that can help you here in week five. Dave Richard, who is the best player or players to stash?
Dave Richard (0:25)
I love it when I can recommend a DST that's on by, because everybody's dropping them. Everybody who misses this video won't even have a thought to pick up the Chiefs DST, but they've got the chargers in week six. The chargers have allowed at least 13 fantasy points to three of the four defenses that they faced. I think it will be four out of five after week five. Broncos are going to be a good start. So I kind of like Kansas City is a great stash going into week six. You can make the move on Saturday afternoon. All the schlubs in your league, they've already dropped them and moved on from them. Go pick up the Chiefs DSE, pause the video now and go pick up the Chiefs DSE, and then come back because we've got a bunch more names to tell you about.
Adam Aizer (1:04)
Like who, Dave? How about we go to the quarterbacks? What do you think?
Dave Richard (1:08)
I think you could get away with starting Jameis Winston this week. I think you could get away with starting Kirk Cousins this week, and I think you could get away with starting Aaron Rodgers this week. And I think you could use all three next week as well. If you've got Joe Burrow, if you've got Jared Goff, you're starting Kyler Murray for some weird reason. Those three QBs are good replacement options. Jamey has the Saints in week six, Kirk Cousins has the Bills in week six, Aaron Rodgers has the Bucks in week six, the Saints in week seven, and the Browns in week eight. And dare I say, Aaron Rodgers has looked pretty good this year. So these are quarterbacks that I would say are slam dunk must start types, but they're all kind of on the fringe of a borderline starter for week five, and they're probably going to be in that same range moving forward too.
Adam Aizer (1:52)
And I want to make a point about Kyler Murray because I know he hasn't been good for fantasy and he hasn't run for more than 17 yards in a game yet. He's only played two games and both of them were without Justin Jefferson or with Jefferson playing almost zero snaps. So they get New Orleans this week, hopefully with Jefferson and then a buy. It's hard for me to tell you, you know, to start him and to stash him whatever. I just want to point out with Kyler, Indianapolis at Detroit and Buffalo, the three games after the buy. So that's a phenomenal and he'll have Jefferson unless Jefferson gets hurt this week. So he may not be the worst player to stash too if you have the roster spot.
All right, running backs, Dave. Last week, you told us to pick up Keaton Mitchell and he was probably the best running back for them and a 62% roster or something like that. So yeah, I'm sure we can bang that drum again.
Dave Richard (2:42)
Yeah, but he's already rostered in 62% of leagues.
If he's out there, pick him up. I don't know if he's like a super high upside fantasy running back, but any running back that can get you in the door for double-digit PPR points is absolutely worth stashing. So you can look for him. He's got the Broncos this week, the Chiefs next week, and you might look and think that the Chiefs is a bad matchup. When the charges are trailing, this dude's going to be on the field a lot. We saw that as recently as last week. How about those Eagles running backs? It's Will Shipley, 62% roster just like Keaton Mitchell, and then Damian Pierce. I don't know if I'm buying into it, but as far as stashes go, they would make the cut and if you desperately need somebody in week five and week six, Will Shipley for what it's worth, Jaguars this week, tough matchup. I admit that's going to be rough. Carolina in week six might not be as bad, but the one that I'm stashing, this is a sneaky stash at running back Adam.
He is available in 90% of CBS Sports Leagues.
Chris Brooks of the Packers. He started for Green Bay last week. He got hurt, led running backs in snaps in the first quarter. It sounds like he's got a shot to play this week against Chicago. Definitely would have a shot then. If he misses this week, he'd heal up. Dallas in week six, Detroit in week seven, Carolina in week eight. We don't know when Josh Jacobs is coming back. I think we know what we're getting with Marshawn Lloyd and Caleb Johnson. I think Brooks can end up being a sneaky running back to put on your bench and just see what happens over the next few weeks.
