What up, my homies? This is Lisa Bilyeu and you are listening to Women of Impact. And if you think divorce or breakup is just paperwork and arguments over who gets the house, you have no idea what's actually going down when you try to break free from someone who is either narcissistic, vengeful, or just downright ruthless. I'm talking about threats, manipulation, stalking, mind games that would blow your mind. And that's just the first round. Now, why does this matter? Because most women, most of us, only find out the rules of the game, so to speak, once they're already in the fight for their lives. And you absolutely deserve the playbook before you're backed up against the wall, before you're outgoing Googling, how do I get him to stop texting me death threats at midnight?
It's all before you get there. Now, obviously, the hope is that you never get there. And if you find yourself breaking up with somebody, that it becomes extremely amicable. But my duty, my job is to provide you guys with things that you may not realize. And today, I am joined by the legal powerhouse herself, Holly J.

**Holly J. Moore** (1:33)
Moore.

**Lisa Bilyeu** (1:34)
Now, she's a divorced attorney who spent two decades right in the trenches. She's seen every type of revenge, every type of dark tactic, and every world attempt to claw back power when a toxic relationship explodes. This is the resource I honestly wish every woman had before she ever needs it. And so that's why I'm bringing it to you guys today. Now, here's what you're going to get out of it. The savage tactics nefarious partners are using through divorce, stalking, threat, emotional warfare, and why fighting over a hundred dollar coffee maker is never about the damn coffee.
Then we go into the actual stats, why people get divorced from infidelity to addiction, and you'll never guess what reason lands at number three. It's not what you think and you want to make sure you stay so that you don't get there.
Then we go into the post-separation revenge playbook. Yes, unfortunately, this is how some narcissists will twist your reality. They will weaponize your kids and they will make you think that you're losing your damn mind, and what actually works is to protect yourself, and that's what we talk about. Finally, we go through some famous cases that exhibit these issues from Brad and Angelina and Moore who can teach us about what truly tips in marriage into meltdown. So if you've ever thought, that would never happen to me. Ladies, hit pause on that thought, because this is the knowledge you may need to save your life, or a friend or a family member you know. Remember, knowledge is power, so the hope is you never find yourself in this situation. But if you do, you already know what to do. So let's get tactical right now, right here on Women of Impact.
So as you have a stat here, family law practitioners widely report that a divorce from a narcissist almost always becomes high conflict, because the hallmarks of a high conflict spouse, lack of trust, high anger, refusal to collaborate or communicate, mirrors the traits of a narcissist. So knowing that when you're with somebody that is already a toxic person, that if you go to leave them, that could exasperate their traits. Have you dealt with a person like that?

**Holly J. Moore** (3:40)
Um, so if the question is, have I dealt with a narcissist? I'm not sure. Have I dealt with a lot of assholes? Yes, absolutely.
Yes. And so I would say, are we allowed to say that word?

**Lisa Bilyeu** (3:54)
Which word?

**Holly J. Moore** (3:55)
Asshole.

**Lisa Bilyeu** (3:55)
Yes, of course. Which one? I know it's anything that triggered me.

**Holly J. Moore** (4:00)
If you're married to an asshole, I mean, it's the same person that you were married to that you're now going to be divorcing. So is it going to be high conflict? Are you going to lack trust with anything they say or do in the divorce process? Is it going to be probably more difficult? Yes. People don't change just because there's a divorce.
