All right, let's grab our Bibles, 2 John, Chapter 2 And so, we're going to jump right back into our series. I was praying about, okay, should we just take a little bit of time off? But it's been a little bit, on a Sunday, missed a Sunday, on a Sunday, missed a Sunday, a little bit, it seems like.
But we're going to try to continue in our series through the Epistle of 1 John. Our series theme, the theme title is this, Full Fellowship Brings Full Joy. That when we have fellowship, when believers have fellowship with God, that is what brings joy. That is what brings purpose. That is what brings the satisfaction in this life, is fellowship with God. And so, just to get a little bit of the context, as we get back into the series, and Lord willing, we'll be in it for a good little while in the coming weeks, but 1 John 2, we'll begin reading in verse number 12 We'll read down through verse number 25, is actually the end of our text. So a little bit lengthier reading, but just trying to get us in to the flow of what John is saying. He says, I write unto you little children. So verse number 12, 1 John 2, he's writing to not literal children, but those who have been led to the Lord by him, those who have been saved. He's writing to believers whom he dearly loves. He says, I write unto you little children, because your sins are forgiven you for his namesake. I write unto you fathers because you have known him that is from the beginning. I write unto you young men because you have overcome the wicked one. I write unto you little children because you have known the father. I've written unto you fathers because you have known him that is from the beginning. I've written unto you young men because you are strong and the word of God abideth in you and you have overcome the wicked one. Alright, in this he's dealing with spiritual maturity that they need to through, he's giving them the words of God so they can grow and have spiritual victory and serve the Lord and know the Father. Verse number 15, Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world, if any man loved the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world, and the world passeth away in the lust thereof, but he that doeth the will of God abideth forever. Little children, it is the last time. And ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now, are there many antichrists? Whereby we know that it is the last time. They went out from us, but they were not of us. For if they had been of us, they would have no doubt have continued with us, but they went out, that they might be made manifest, that they were not all of us. But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things. I have not written unto you because you know not the truth, but because you know it, and that no lie is of the truth. Who is a liar, but he that denyeth that Jesus is the Christ, he is antichrist, that denyeth the Father and the Son. Whosoever denyeth the Son, the same hath not the Father, but he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also, let therefore abide in you which ye have heard from the beginning. If that ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye shall also continue in the Son and in the Father. What's that talking about? Fellowship. You're going to continue in the Father, in the Son and in the Father, and this is the promise that he hath promised us, even eternal life. So there's a lot here. I'm not sure if we're going to get through all of it this morning, but with the Lord's help, this is our title this morning, Fellowship with God in the Last Days. Fellowship with God for Believers in the Last Days. Let's pray, ask the Lord's help. Dear Heavenly Father, I do come before you this morning. I thank you for who you are. I pray that you would bless, Lord, the preaching of your word. Please enable me to say all that you have said, to say only what you have said, to get to make application to our lives. I pray that you would speak to us. I pray that you would give us clarity. I pray, Lord, that you would give us understanding of your truth this morning. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
