Good morning, people. Week two, almost in the books. We got a Monday nighter up ahead. The Los Angeles Rams and the New York Giants, the great Jackson Dart.

Look, I'm making a list of all the people Matt hates. I'm probably gonna stick it to him as much as I can. But he's Matt Waldman. I'm Bob Harris. This is the Feel It or It podcast. We're here to discuss some of the goings on from Sunday and kind of make sense of them. Matt, you can find his work at the Rookie Scouting, on the Rookie Scouting portfolio at mattwaldman.com. Find his Football Guys work well at footballguys.com where you'll also find mine. So check all that out. It's fantastic. I assure you that. Matt, how are you this fine day?

Matt Waldman (0:40)

I'm doing good though. I'm about two steps away from calling you Kyler Harris.

Bob Harris (0:49)

Let's save Kyler for next week. All right. Let's start with one that we can all universally love or maybe. Patrick Mahomes, coming off of a huge game. I want to say it was like a quarterback to finish on the day.

It was fantastic. 300, nearly 400 yards passing and pretty much like Kenneth Walker was a big deal, got 30 carries, but he wasn't the scoring driving. It was the passing game that drove the scoring. Is Patrick Mahomes the top five quarterback when the season is over?

Matt Waldman (1:22)

I think he can become close to that for sure. I mean, the big question is, does he really have the receiving talent to make that happen? Because when we're looking at this team, Tyquan Thornton made some nice plays. That was nice.

Good to see.

Bob Harris (1:38)

If he has the receiving talent.

Matt Waldman (1:40)

You know, Xavier Worthy up and down.

And I think that's the thing, is you want, you know, Ray Shea Rice, they have to scheme him to get him, you know, they kind of scheme him open. He's not, they don't have anybody that you say, 15 yards and beyond. Can they win against tight man coverage against the best corner man to man? And I would say the answer is, it's kind of mixed because Ray Shea Rice really isn't it. Tyquan Thornton is deep, but that those timing routes, those intermediate timing routes, they just don't have anybody doing that. It's either deep or it's short and run, you know, or intermediate in the open zone. And there's enough creativity in that offense that I think it could happen, especially with those three, as long as Xavier Worthy's again catching the football.

And then you have Kelce, who's playing really well this year. So we'll talk more about him. But I think that it's kind of the thing where the passes, the pass and the run are creating constraints and they're creating issues, binds for the defense. Kenneth Walker looks great.

Bob Harris (2:57)

But I think it's fair to say, the plan with Kenneth Walker and 30 Touches is what we are after, right? 178 yards, no TDs. The TDs all came from Mahomes, the three TDs.

On the days that Kenneth Walker isn't Pete Kenneth Walker, Mahomes can easily carry this team.

Matt Waldman (3:15)

He can. I think against most teams, he can. It's just that if Kenneth Walker isn't Pete Kenneth Walker, I think that if we're talking fantasy scoring, then absolutely he can.

If we're talking just the reality of football where Kenneth Walker, I thought Kenneth Walker was Pete Kenneth Walker football wise last night. It was just a matter of that they were leveraging. That's right. But they were leveraging off of that. I mean, the fact that when the reason that Patrick Mahomes can take a seven step drop and hit Tyquan Thornton on a nearly 60 yard pass is the run game. That's the fact that you can, if your quarterback is clean off of a seven step drop, you are running the ball well, and that's what they were doing. So Mahomes look great. Glad to see that the deep game is backs. I think a lot of that does have to do with that. Between Kenneth Walker and Emmett Johnson, they've got a really good one, two punch. And I think it was a great sign for people who drafted Kenneth, Emmett Johnson was when they got rid of Amari DiMarcato.

And so if you don't have Emmett, if you don't have Emmett Johnson, and he's available on your waiver wire, you best get him because we know Kenneth Walker's injury history.

Bob Harris (4:48)

Yes we do.

And again, Mahomes was 382 yards, 3 TDs. He finished with 29 fantasy points, quarterback 4 through Sunday night. So that was the top five thought there. And we'll see, I'm kind of with you. I think this is going to be like clearly this is going to be Kenneth Walker's offense as much as it needs to be. But it just seems to me Patrick Mahomes is available for the high end production. So it's Travis Kelce apparently ends up setting the all time record for yards after the catch. That's a compilation that he has to be proud of. But in this game he had 9 catches for 101 yards in a touchdown.
