Good morning, Matt Waldman. It's almost real football, or at least all the fake football's over. Hi everybody, I'm Bob Harris. He is Matt Waldman, and this is the Feel It or Fuck It podcast, and we're heading into the regular season with a blaze of glory or something like that. Matt's got, at least Matt's done something this week.
I received my email, Matt, suggesting I go check out the three year rookie rankings that have been updated. Do tell.
**Matt Waldman** (0:26)
Yeah, I mean, they're a little different than what I do with the dynasty rankings and projection service. If you're looking for a long build or win now strategy, that's where you're going to want to go, and that's going to give you where I feel they are in the moment, based on the news and based on all the speculation and what's going on there. But if you're looking for just a look at talent and where I think these guys fit based on or where I would rank these guys more on a priority on talent alone and not all that other stuff, then I've updated them in the RSP pre-job post-draft. I look at that more as a talent, as more of a talent evaluation side of what I do, and then the fantasy-oriented stuff is more, you know, if you're going to get really nitpicky about the fantasy stuff, then I go into the Dynasty Rankings and Projections. So you're going to get the past three years of players, and I just sorted it by a tab, by position in Excel, and then I put a PDF on as well, so that you can look at that. It's just kind of a quick and dirty look of what's there.
And then in the newsletter that it came with, there was also an evaluation on Darius Taylor, the running back in Minnesota, who's an underrated draft prospect in his own right. So you can get an advanced scouting report of that. Last month, it was Kowan Lacey, and kind of a critical look at his game, where he's getting a lot of love, but there's some things that you might want to check out about what he needs to work on.
**Bob Harris** (2:12)
All right, so go check that out. Right now, check your email. You probably got your email about it, but if you didn't, you should be signed up to that. By golly, go to mattwaldman.com and check out all the RSP has to offer. Also check out Matt's work at Football Guys. Check out my work at Football Guys. Listen to me on the radio at Sirius XM Fantasy Sports. This week, the Allison Chains draft on Thursday night. Very excited about that. Always a good time.
And otherwise, let's dive in. It was a consequential weekend for many players, Matt, or at least a mile post in their career journeys and arcs. That was certainly the case for Josh Jacobs, who was put on the commissioner's exempt list after being charged with a pair of misdemeanors.
I suspect the league knows more about this than they're letting on at the moment, so we'll just let it play out. But he has a hearing on November 17th. So it's probably fair to assume that we're not going to get any information until at least then, and if it comes before then, it's probably not going to be good. So that brings us to one, MarShawn Lloyd, who has struggled. We're not laughing about the circumstances. I know some people get upset that we don't dig into the meat and taters of what Josh Jacobs did. This is a fantasy football discussion, so we'll focus on Lloyd and who's left.
So he has been a bit fragile. I haven't seen a lot of them in two years. But will MarShawn Lloyd get Josh Jacobs full workload, Matt, feel it or fuck it?
**Matt Waldman** (3:42)
I'm going to say fuck it, but I'd say it's enough that we're going to feel like he's worth drafting, and he's the guy that you're going to want to take the chance on.
Obviously, there's a couple of things here. People are going to say, well, they traded for Kaleb Johnson.
We'll talk about him a little bit more, but when you trade for somebody basically after the preseason, you're not expecting that person to make a big impact unless there's injuries. With Lloyd, what you're looking for here is that he and Chris Brooks will likely be the tandem. How much of a split depends on how well Lloyd does. Lloyd has the most speed. He's a game-breaking back. They drafted him early. They've been counting on him to develop. But there's a lot of, if he can do this, he could be fantastic. If he can stay healthy after going. Yeah. If he can stay healthy after the work at the Edward Institute, they've probably given him a plan of what to work with. It's more of, again, as we talked about last week, it's a wait and see how does it do, then we'll adjust type of plan. So it's not guaranteed. He fumbles a lot or he did in college. That's an issue that could put him on the bench if he doesn't fix that.
