Feel It Or F–It 8.3.26: An RSP Cast with Ian Hartitz and Matt Waldman

Where the fuck's Bob Harris? Well, we don't care. We've got Ian Hartitz, and this is a long time coming. So folks, welcome to Feel It Or Fuck It. We got, I love the start here. We already got Free the Jalen Milro. I mean, I think we got a little bit in common about that, even though we know that he probably needs a little bit of the QB rehab right now until he gets an opportunity. But we're gonna get rolling right away.
Charlie Kolar, this is what somebody asked me this weekend, the field questions. I'm like, yeah, man, email us. You know, we're good. So Charlie Kolar, is he gonna have fantasy relevance this year and with the Chargers?

I'm going fuck it, Matt.
But that's in terms of him being someone actively that we're going after, okay? I think he could lead the Chargers tight ends potentially with all due respect to Ronny Gaston, David Njoku, just one knee injury after another for that dude. But I don't want to underestimate Kolar. I'm just thinking, man, this screams multi-tight end situation. I know McDaniel got a lot out of Jonah and Waller these last two years. That feels a little more of a TUA limitation sort of thing going on there. It is crazy, though. 2100 plus yards, 23 touchdowns at Iowa State for Kolar. That's more than Loveland, Warren, McBride. You can paint the picture. He was just stuck behind Mark Andrews, stuck behind Isaiah Likely. He got paid. He's the most complete tight end Los Angeles. I just think even best case if he ceases the starting job and doesn't look back, we're still looking at the number three option in the offense.
I have a hard time seeing him be in this consistent top 12 guy. You know what I'm saying?

Yeah, I'm I'm with you on that because I mean, he is probably the best blocker they have. He's he is a sneaky, good receiver. I mean, I comped him to Mark Andrews pre draft and you see where he wound up.
As kind of a player that he could be aspiring to that that type of player in zone because he works well in zone coverage, makes those tight, tight coverage plays. But you look at that Chargers offense and you know, Lad McConkey, you've got Quinton Johnston who's emerging and you realize he's starting to to improve his game. They want Trey Harris on the field at times. You know, there's going to be a lot of opportunities where you said, you know, three tight end sets, three tight end rooms, two tight ends. It's going to be mix and match with this. And I think it's a tight end by committee scenario where I don't think I really want to touch any of the Chargers tight ends except for maybe bi-weeks if I just rolled with one tight end in the draft and said, okay, we now know that Kolar is getting looks in the red zone and you can stream him and that might work, but otherwise, yeah, I'm with you. All right, well, Luther Burden, he's going to be the team's wide receiver one and a fantasy wide receiver one.

I feel it, man, and I swear, Matt, I was preparing, you know, this morning for this and I like 30 minutes before we got yet another Ben Johnson quote just going crazy over Luther Burden. I was already just feeling this.
I think it's kind of four factors that we're loving. First of all, yeah, Ben Johnson, who we all pretty widely unanimously consider one of the brighter offensive minds of football for good reason, he's telling us he's behind Luther Burden stock, he's telling us he's buying a break out. They felt fine trading DJ Morroway and focusing the offense around the guy in the first place. Clearly, the team trusts him. The efficiency stuff. All right. I know we have to bring up the yards for our run every single time we talk about Luther Burden, but you know what? It's kind of true, man. As much as we usually just throw it around with the he was third last year. Only Jason and Puka were better. The rookie leaderboard over the last decade is even crazier, man. Number one among any rookie wide receiver. Again, you got to get the minimum threshold going there. You know, some guys had a larger sample. Last 10 years, he's ahead of AJ Brown, Justin Jefferson, Puka Nakua, Jamar Chase, BTJ, Chris Alave, Rashid Rice, Lab Macconkey and Tyree Kill. Incredible group of guys.
And just the twitch.
Matt, you watch all these guys out there. This guy moves different with the football in his hands. And we can even quantify it. 14 missed tackles forced last year on 53 catches. Odunsa had eight on 102 over these last two years. Only Khalil Shakur actually had a higher rate of forcing missed tackles per reception last season. He's doing it on like a three yard average target depth. So I know there was some gadgety, big play, you know, the fleet flicker against the Cowboys and they're throwing Burden a bunch of screens. Like I know the nature of which he was used was maybe a little bit more friendly to stats like this, but I believe in the offense. I believe in the talent. I believe what my eyes are telling me. This dude's freaking awesome. And it's a sweet offense. It's condensed around three guys. I don't know what we're missing here, Matt. I know it's like a little scary to draft someone around four and you see his last year finishing everything. But I'm in. I'm all the way in on Luther Burden.
