A good morning, world. It's exhibition football. It's almost like the real thing, and Matt Waldman and I are here to feel it or fuck it.
And that's what you're here for, too. Let's face it, if we weren't doing that, you wouldn't show up. Matt, how are you this fine morning? We're a full weekend to the exhibition season. How goes it?
**Matt Waldman** (0:20)
I mean, I think pretty good thus far. I mean, we haven't had major injuries, I think, that are shutting people down for the year. I mean, we've had some. I mean, obviously, Ricky Pearsall is one of them, and I'm sure we can mention a few others, but none that have been devastating to the top of our ranks. And I'd say, knock on wood, it'll stay that way.
**Bob Harris** (0:46)
Yeah, some that are creating opportunities, some that will limit opportunities. Guy, we talked about Jonathan Brooks, a tuba Hubbard has a hamstring injury that will keep him out the rest of preseason. We'll get a better look at Jonathan Brooks. Breece Hall, just before we recorded this, came up with a little bit of a groin issue. We don't know how serious it is, but that could open the door for some other players to get some turns at camp, and also to keep Breece Hall from getting hurt further. That would be great, New York Jets. Kristin McCaffrey, also not practicing, a lot of discussion about that, based on the history, Matt, you know, the 2024 season where it started out with, oh, just some tightness and ended up missing 13 games. I think we all carry that fear with us. Also, it was pointed out this morning, my pro football talk that the tightness came shortly after Bijon and Gibbs got paid. So, and there may be multiple layers to this one.
We'll figure that out.
**Matt Waldman** (1:44)
Or maybe, guys, like you said, Breece Hall, Luther Burden, Kristin McCaffrey, the team goes, okay, pull up a little lame, jump off the field, and this will be our opportunity for you to just be rested up and ready because we're flowing our offense through your ass.
**Bob Harris** (2:01)
Well, it's funny because the discussion earlier this year that as we hear every year, Kyle Shanahan discusses his desire to use less Christian McCaffrey before using more than ever every single year that he's able to. But McCaffrey said, hey, yeah, use me less in practice. His Sundays, he's there for the games, he doesn't want to miss a snap.
So maybe this is just all part of this or also, maybe he just wants some damn money. Pay the man, 49ers, you make them work by a damn substation. Who knows what's going on there might affect his future generations.
**Matt Waldman** (2:34)
The best Twitter handle ever is Drew Davon Booth's electrical substation. Yes.
**Bob Harris** (2:43)
It's causing trouble people. All right. Before we dive into it, we'll have some related thoughts on this. You'll find all Matt's work and my work at Football Guys.
Well, find all my work. Half of Matt's work at Football Guys, you'll find much more at the Rookie Scouting Portfolio. Tell them what they'll find now, Matt.
**Matt Waldman** (2:59)
Yeah. I mean, look, we have the Dynasty Rankings and Projection Service that's available.
I provide updates in terms of the projections and rankings for short-term builds and long-term builds. If you're trying to win now or if you're contending three to four years from now, I have rankings for each. They're tiered. They give you a little bit of symbols of like what you should think about with these players where they're underrated, have injury issues, off-field issues, whether they're guys I think that have upside or they are just specific fits for what their system is about. I give you a whole kind of shorthand list with that, along with some commentary with those players. The last update was on the 13th of this month and the next update will be on the 23rd. So I'm trying to give you some adjustments based on injuries and occasional camp stuff too. And again, this is rankings for all players who I think are going to make an impact in fantasy for your dynasty leagues. And then of course, there's the RSP pre-draft, post-draft guide, which is my favorite. And it's available for $21.95 and you get 1100 plus pages of content. You're getting in-depth rookie profiles based on looking at their film. And then my post-draft, well, I put that out in May.
I tend to draft off that still even right now. I mean, I may give adjustments for the dynasty crowds, but I tend to still draft off of that because I tend to believe in what I saw in the film more than the buzz of what's going on in camp and what's going on with, you know, in the pre-season to the biggest extent. We're going to get into that a little bit more, I think. But, you know, that's available for $21.95. You can get both, and then it kind of gives you a really nice overall view of how I look at the fantasy football scape as a whole. And we're also going to tell you with that. And I do updates with the pre-draft post-draft where I kind of rank the past three classes of rookies and give you kind of an update of that. And my first update will be in August for that, for those who just subscribed to the $21.95 service. And I just wrapped up a three part series of football guys looking at about 10 different drafts and studying, you know, which ones I followed. I followed the rule book of ADP.
