Queen Carvania stood haloed by the morning sun. An army hung on her every word.

My champions, I have sold my chariot on Carvana. It was a lovely SUV, an inexplicably queenly offer. They're even coming to the castle to collect it. Tonight, we feast.
An offer you can feast on. Sell your car today on Carvana. Pick up these mails. Bye.

What up, ladies? This is Lisa Bilyeu, and you are listening to another episode of Women of Impact. And today, we're not going to sugarcoat anything, because I'm going to ask you a question, and I want you to answer in your head. How many times have you watched a true crime doc and thought, that could never be me, I'd see the danger, I would never fall for that? Well, brace yourself, because today we're ripping the damn Hollywood filter right off, what you think makes someone dangerous, and what gets women trapped before you even realize it. Now, today's guest is fricking epic, guys. I'm so excited. He's not just another armchair detective, he's Robin Dreak. Now, in case you don't know who he is, oh my god, are you in for a treat? He is an ex-FBI counterintelligence agent and behavioral expert who spent 21 years catching spies, traitors and straight up fricking monsters using behavioral science. And he's got the raw unfiltered FBI playbook for reading people in real life. And yep, he's bringing it to us today. Now, this isn't just about outsmarting the Netflix villains. This is about you listening right now to spot manipulation, deception and what he calls, quote unquote, the creepy factor that could actually save your life, your heart and your fricking sanity. So here's what you're getting today straight from the FBI trenches. The shocking real life case of Corey Richards, how a supposedly grieving mom turns her husband's murder into a children's book, and the subtle red flags that everybody missed. Guys, this is a next level masterclass of how someone can manipulate you, in your face, on national television, and you don't even realize it. Then we go into the exact signs that actually tell you if someone's a true psychopath or a master manipulator, including how Robin actually connects the dots with all these cases to your real world life. You may think it's just a Netflix documentary, but tell that to the victims and survivors of the BTK killer that Idaho murders and Rex Huberman. Then we go on to the FBI level tactics. That's right, master fricking class in reading human behaviour in any situation. So you know when you're dealing with emotional hijacking, dangerous entitlement or someone who's just not safe for your soul.
Now, if you believe it can't happen to you, oh my god, then think again. Because if you ever doubted your gut, because someone just seems normal, this is fricking required listening. Let's dive in right now, raw and unfiltered, right here on Women of Impact.
According to the largest study ever done on lie detection, with over 24,000 people, they discovered that when someone's telling us the truth, we get it right 61 percent of the time. But when someone's lying to us, we only catch it 47 percent of the time. So basically, we're far better at recognizing honesty than we are at catching lies. But Robin, not you. You spent 21 years in the FBI counterintelligence, getting trained lies to spill their deepest, darkest secrets.
So for anyone listening, what are some immediate things we can look out for to accurately assess if we're being deceived, played or blindsided by a traitor in our own lives?
**Robin Dreak** (3:44)
Yeah, those stats are pretty remarkable to think about, to contemplate. And the first thing that pops in my mind is when you talk about a stat like that, about detecting deception, not being able to do it is confirmation bias. Because every human being has been burned at least once, especially if you've been burned in the heart. And then you become very wary and you give yourself a confirmation bias. And especially if you're going to give yourself a confirmation bias of being deceived, being hurt or burnt by someone because they're being deceptive, they hid agendas from you, they had a secret life they never shared with you.
What happens to us is we start seeking it, we start trying to find it, we start trying to identify it. In other words, we get really, really good tunnel vision because it's a threat, it made us feel fearful and we have fear as our motivation, we want to never feel fearful again. So we're going to try to find that thing that allowed us to feel fear, which was deception, deceit, dishonesty. But what happens unfortunately when we focus in on that one thing, we miss everything else.
