What is going on, ladies and gentlemen? This is Stats Over Politics.
I am going to be the host today. I am your boy. I will be Von Kellerman for the day. As you can see, we do not have our boy, Shaun Holko and or Kevin Dent. Kevin is on a hiatus, obviously, because the Eagles lost. And to the right of me, I have my boy Kaz Johnson. And Kaz, if you do not mind, my good sir, giving us a quick intro on who we have doing the show for us today.
Kaz Johnson (1:04)
What's good, everybody? Today, we got my boy, grew up with them in the small town of Mammoth. Mammoth is Mammoth, what we call it, Mammoth. Mammoth, Illinois. Isaiah Perry, AKA Isley, AKA Day Hate Is. I hate this to death, but he's on here today. If you guys are audio only listeners, he's rocking his cowboy's gear. So you already know, we ain't got to go over that. You know what I'm saying? It is what it is. You know what I'm saying? Fuck him and all that. But my boy is though, he's a ball guy. He's played at a high level. He's played semi-pro.
He was good in high school. And yeah, just all-round athlete and a lover of football. So we talked about it. He's been tuning in to the podcast a little bit. And, well, not a little bit, quite a bit over the last couple of years. I've been dealing with you guys. And, you know, he's like, bro, put me on that hoe. I'm like, let me see what's up. And talk to Kevin about it, talk to Shaun about it.
And they're like, yeah, you know, it's all good. So here he is.
Jaevon Kellerman (2:05)
Welcome, brother Izzy, to the show. Izzy, how we feeling today?
Isaiah Perry (2:08)
I'm feeling good. I'm feeling good, man. Fun weekend of, you know, not having to watch the Longhorns and stress out on Saturday, Texas guy. Got to have a heart attack on Sunday.
Jaevon Kellerman (2:19)
We're really coming out this weekend.
Isaiah Perry (2:20)
Man, listen.
I don't care how Oklahoma looks, man. Like, it's a rivalry games go anyway. So still a little nervous. But yeah, I'm happy to join, man. It's cool. I've been watching you guys' podcasts and just chit chatting in the chat with you guys. And obviously, I've known Kaz forever. And I was like, man, if y'all ever got a spot open, I mean, I love to talk football like this. It's my thing. So I appreciate you having me, man.
Jaevon Kellerman (2:45)
Absolutely, absolutely. All right. And so guys, I'm not Steve Jobs, okay?
Kaz Johnson (2:52)
Oh, we know, we know. I don't know what Kevin and Shaun was thinking. Like, I'm right here.
Isaiah Perry (2:58)
Y'all know I do this.
Jaevon Kellerman (3:00)
I'm not Professor X, but we're going to keep... I'm going to be on the ones and twos today. But all right. So not to, you know, cut things short, but we are going to be revealing what a shellacking of a Monday night football game that was as the...
The Falcons just come into the stadium that once upon a time, this was the 20 year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina. Now we all know the severity of what that was back in the day and how traumatic that was to the city of New Orleans. And the Atlanta Falcons, I mean, just out of nowhere, man, or just panics just falls from the sky. And now all of a sudden, the Falcons are good again. Kaz, I'm gonna start, actually start with our boy Izzy today. What are your thoughts about what the Atlanta Falcons can be? Is it, are the Atlanta Falcons good or are the Saints just bad?
Isaiah Perry (3:58)
Well, I think what really threw me off to going into the game was obviously we've all been around sports or played sports for years. And I thought like the Dome Aversary would really charge up the Saints. Like, you know, like that's special to that team, the franchise, the people. And it just didn't ever seem like they had that energy. And like I definitely went into the game thinking the Saints are going to win behind all that energy, knowing what it means. And it's the 20th anniversary. They just looked flat. But I mean, the Falcons, if Penix didn't get asked, he made some good throws. Don't get me wrong, but like they didn't, I think they were smart knowing he knows how to make reads. I mean, he's like 30 years old, it seems like, because all the knee injuries in college. And then, so I mean, he's a smart quarterback. He always was coming out of Washington. And I think he adds an element where, you know, you have to respect the pass for the Falcons.
