Hey, everybody. Good morning, good morning. It is Wednesday, July 8th. Is that true? I guess it's true. That's what the show says at the top of the screen. It's Wednesday, July 8th. And it is episode 763
Two, seven, six, seven, six, three, I think, 763

**Andy Halliday** (0:27)
Yes, that's correct.

**Beth Lyons** (0:29)
Because Wednesdays are three and eight, yes.
And that's how I have to do it in my head, even though I knew it when I posted the shows. There we go.
And who am I? I am Beth Lyons with me in the studio. Today is Andy Halliday. And you are listening and watching The Daily AI Show. And we're so glad you're here. Hey to everybody in the chat. Hey to everybody listening after the chat. We do love our audience. Andy, how are you doing today?

**Andy Halliday** (1:01)
I'm well, thank you.
Hump Day. Pass the hump. Get to the weekend.

**Beth Lyons** (1:09)
That's right.

**Andy Halliday** (1:11)
They granted us all the way to the 12th to continue to use Fable on our normal low rent accounts. That's all good.

**Beth Lyons** (1:21)
That was one of the big news things that dropped, was that Anthropic in the middle of the day, I think, said, oh, hey, we're going to extend to July 12th so that you can continue to still use Fable.
They so far have not reset limits. If you hit your limit because you were like, just use it all so I don't lose access. No, you don't have access.

**Andy Halliday** (1:48)
93 percent. Then the reset is not until Friday, so that's where.
I'll confess that I had a really positive experience with Fable in the last moments I thought yesterday. As a result of that, I said, okay, it's saying upgrade, and so I'm going to do that. I just bought another $45. They have 5 percent discount on the $50 lowest level of credit ads for that. But I guess you're still subject to the usage limit. I can't even say it. Usage limits. So when I run it from 93 percent in about five minutes to 100 percent today, I won't be able to use those credits until Friday.

**Beth Lyons** (2:43)
Oh, interesting. I actually don't know the answer to that question.

**Andy Halliday** (2:47)
I think that's the way it works. They basically throttle you so that even if you're a paid user, you can't overwhelm there. But maybe I'm wrong, maybe once I'm paid. But it hasn't changed the warning that your usage is at 93 percent.
It will reset on Friday, July 10th.

**Beth Lyons** (3:13)
I think you must be right, because I have seen other heavy users talking about buying another account. So they're going up to Steve Yagye from the Welcome to Gastown and Behind the Beads.
Developer Framework, maybe, is how you'd call that. But he posted and said, well, looks like maybe 10 max. We're going back to 10 max subscriptions apparently. So if you could just buy more tokens, I think that's not.

**Andy Halliday** (3:56)
Yeah, so I did. I have a bank waiting for me on Friday when it resets. But I'll continue to work using 4.8 happily in the meantime, but I can just tell you that I did what Brian did, which was, okay, I'm going to have Fable 5 set up the compound engineering on my system and clean up all the configurations that are kind of Frankenstein in my setup for Claude code and for codecs.
So I did that and Fable 5 did that very nicely and also discovered serious errors in the approach that Opus 4.8 had taken and published to my project folders about how to do exactly that. I had prepared to do the compound engineering reframe of my setup and the configuration of the system. And Claude Opus 4.8 had made some serious errors. And when Fable went through the thing and said, okay, here's that plan and here's what's wrong with that plan, I went, hmm, yeah, because it was only like the day before that I decided not to use Fable 5 tokens that I wanted to reserve for the application developer I was doing with it. For that purpose, so I had done it with 4.8. But Fable 5 did a better job, I can attest, because it identified a very serious error. And just an example of one of the errors that it came across was that Opus 4.8 was going to implement a dated version of the compound engineering plugin. It wasn't the latest version. And so, but Fable 5 did the, without my prompting it, it had gone out and evaluated where is the most recent version of this, even though I had supplied the link just to the compound engineering page on every.2.
