Exploring (almost) EVERY Ork Model in 40K

The Poorhammer Podcast

October 5, 2026

On this week's episode, Brad and Eric go through all the models available for Orks in Warhammer 40K. Would you like to ride a tricycle for battle? No? How about a can made out of defeated enemy tanks full of guns? Also no? Maybe you wanna ride a red pig-shark trained to bite everything it sees?

Hello, and welcome to The Poorhammer Podcast, Episode 236 I'm your host, Brad. This is my co-host, Eric.

Eric (0:20)

How's it going?

Brad (0:21)

And on today's episode, the entire Custodes Codex just leaked right before we hit record, so you know what that means.

Eric (0:28)

It's Orktober, baby! Let's go!

Brad (0:30)

Let's talk Orks.

Eric (0:31)

Sounds good.

Brad (0:49)

All right, real quick, before we start, though, first up, we're doing monthly giveaways. And would you look at that? We have beautiful monthly giveaway winners who won this month. We got the different combat patrols we made in an episode earlier this month. Wow!

Eric (1:01)

Yeah, I've just got to figure out how to actually box it up to ship it out now.

Brad (1:05)

And I've got to figure out who they are, because we record these in the past before the drawing was done. So, like, look at them. They're so awesome. Look at these names.

Eric (1:11)

Wow. Also, don't forget, we're going to be giving away more stuff this month.

Brad (1:16)

Yes. So tune in next week to find out what you can win in this month's giveaway. Or alternatively, you could go to patreon.com/sullysingleton and then you're just always entered. Money. I like money.

Also, as a second piece of news, just as a reminder, next week is the Book Club episode for The Wicked and The Warped. If you have not finished the book, you should do so. It's really good. See you all next week for that.

Eric (1:39)

All right. With that out of the way, it's Orks. We're doing an episode on Orks. Got that. What are we actually doing, though?

Brad (1:45)

Let's show off the entire range of Orks. They just got a huge range refresh. They're an already impressive army. They've got a lot of models to go through. They've got a bunch of fun themes in it. This is an army that you can go different directions on depending on which parts of it you like. I just think, generally, if you're a newer player looking into Orks, an episode like this should be useful.

Eric (2:05)

All right. I guess with that, let's start at the top. Let's start with Ghaz, the big, like, supreme commander, the, what is it, the prophet of the Wa.

Brad (2:12)

Yes. And Makkari. He's there, too. We've got Ghazghul, Mog, Uruk, Thraka, and Makkari. Yeah.

Eric (2:18)

These are pretty cool models. I mean, OK, Makkari.

Brad (2:22)

Makkari is pretty basic. He just has his banner, but he's Makkari.

Eric (2:26)

Yeah, which is awesome. Lore-wise, hilarious. The luckiest Grot ever.

Brad (2:31)

Yes. In lore, if Makkari dies, Ghaz just wills him back, like picks up a Grot, and then that Grot becomes Makkari again. And like it's Vietnam flashbacks of being Makkari.

Eric (2:42)

Right. The like the Grot that hasn't died, but like also other than all the times that they died. Very fun lore wise. The model itself is a little basic. I mean, it's a Grot. The flag banner thing is pretty cool, but we're here for Ghazghul Mag Urk Thraka. And yeah, Ghaz is cool.

Brad (2:59)

You can tell who the Ork player is because you just rattled off his name perfectly. It took me two tries to say it. Yeah.

Eric (3:06)

There's a couple on this list that I'll have some trouble with. Some of the newer ones, probably the next one we're going to talk about, but Ghaz is awesome. Like I love this model. Super cool. One of the first models I actually put together.

Brad (3:16)

What's his gun called? The Roar of Mork?

Eric (3:18)

That sounds right.

Brad (3:19)

The Quad Barrel Gatling Gun with four chain feeds individually. It's four Gatling guns glued together.

Eric (3:27)

It's cool, isn't it?

Brad (3:29)

I absolutely love that arm.

Eric (3:32)

So it's the Roar of Mork or Mork's Roar for the gun. And then the claw is Gork's Claw or something like that, because Ghaz is Mork and Gork's Prophet or whatever. Basically the biggest, coolest boss ever.

Brad (3:45)

Who keeps getting beheaded and made bigger.

Eric (3:47)

Right?

Brad (3:48)

In lore, yeah, this version of Ghaz is actually old lore now. Because after this, he got decapitated and put onto an even bigger body. So we could get a Ghaz upscale one day.

Eric (3:59)

I hope so. I mean, I'm totally for it. I mean, especially with some of the rules now getting a little bit more elite. We've got some of the Primarchs jumping in points for the gameplay. We can see Ghaz get bigger and even scarier. That'd be cool.
